14hh 13y/o Morgan/X mare "TAXI" to be sold into capable and loving hands.
Suitable for confident experienced/coached youth or light adultTaxi is currently running in a commercial herd of 29 and we are unfortunately unable to give her the time and dedication she deserves.
A very smart mare, curious and quick thinker, Taxi will perform best as a 1-person horse, as she is very observant and needs time to warm up to "her" person. She does not take well to overly harsh or unfair treatment, but will also require someone with the experience to convince her of their leadership skills. Once she trusts you, she will be ready and willing to take on the world with you. Due to changes in business, Taxi has not been ridden in a little over a year. Before that, she was mainly a wrangler horse. She rides nicely if you can handle her energy and personality which is best suited to a confident rider.
Taxi went through a time of being handled rather harshly which is why she initially has some "stranger danger", but once she's gotten to know you, is well behaved. She could make an amazing horse for an experienced rider with ambitions in extensive/back country trail riding (she has that Morgan pep in her step) or Cowboy Challenge - she is curious and learns fast!
Someone having previous experience with starting/restarting horses or an intermediate rider working with a trainer could find a diamond in the rough with this one.
Taxi moves peacefully in our herd of 29, being confident around other horses but not excessively pushy.
Good with her feet (once she trusts you). UTD on farrier, vaccines and dewormer.
Can arrange for transport on Vancouver Island, including ports ON Vancouver Island.
Not desperate to sell - if she doesn't find the right home, we will keep her over winter as a project.
***TO CAPABLE/APPROVED HOME ONLY***
***NOT SUITABLE FOR NOVICE/TIMID RIDERS***

14.2 9y/o QH/X gelding "CHIEF" to be sold into capable and loving hands.
Chief is currently running in a commercial herd of 29 and we are unfortunately unable to give him the time and dedication he deserves.
He was gelded late and prior to that used in a breeding program (hence the fancy shape) but is very well behaved, if not somewhat wary around people. Due to changes in business, he has not been ridden in a little over a year. Before that, he was mainly a wrangler horse. He rides nicely if you can handle his energy and personality which is best suited to a confident and well-seasoned rider.
Chief went through a time of being handled rather harshly which is why he can be suspicious of humans at times. Despite all this, we have never seen him kick, strike or bite a person which speaks for his character. We believe that with patience and loving firmness, Chief could make an amazing working horse for an experienced rider, be it riding the range, working equitation or other pursuits that put both his body and mind to work.
Someone having previous experience with studs following a gentle but structured approach could find a diamond in the rough with this one.
Due to being gelded late, he can be dominant in a herd setting so should either be kept within large enough area with other horses and/or horses that aren't very submissive. In our large herd, he can order some of them around but never got into big fights.
Easy keeper.
Good with his feet. UTD on farrier, vaccines and dewormer.
Can arrange for transport on Vancouver Island, including ports ON Vancouver Island.
Not desperate to sell - if he doesn't find the right home, we will keep him over winter as a project.
