Larson’s Group of Companies is a parent company to Larson’s Abattoir and Larson’s Hides. Larson’s Abattoir is a meat processing plant in small town Leross, Saskatchewan, while Larson’s Hides, deals with fur production, raising animals and some other ventures. Leross is in the middle of the beautiful Canadian Prairies, with beautiful flowers, berries and crops growing in the warm months and northern lights in the sky during cold months. Located an hour west of Yorkton SK, and an hour and thirty minutes north of Regina. We focus on animal products as well as human products. Position Summaries:
Larson’s Abattoir operates 5 days a week. We are looking for meat cutters, butchers, animal care experts and general labourers. All workers get two 15 minute and an hour long lunch break each day. Also all jobs have a competitive starting wage with an increase of $1 per year.
Meat cutters are required to start at 8:00 AM and work until 5:00PM, Monday to Friday. Meat cutters will work in the cutting room; deboning meat, breaking down animals, making finished products, etc.
Butchers are required to start at 8:00 AM and work until 5:00PM, Monday to Friday. Butchers will work on the back floor, ethically killing animals, processing the carcass, removal of organs, etc.
Animals care experts are required to start at 9:00 AM and work until 6:00PM, Monday to Friday. Also during emergencies that include, animals birthing (calving, lambing, etc), animal sickness, downed animals, etc. Animal care experts will be expected to deal with emergencies as well as feeding and watering animals, checking watering bowls, gathering samples of feed, etc.
General labourers have full time and part time positions available, with flexible hours. If interested, hours will be discussed during the interview stages. General labourers are needed to help feed and water animals, move product, help in cutting room, etc.
