When was the last time you did something simply for pleasure?
Without the perfectionist in you getting in the way?
Ready to get out of the way?
And let inspiration strike you where you stand?
Are you picking up what I’m throwing down?
At the drum circle you’re free to dabble, play to your strengths, have fun of course . . .
And just be you. That’s what the drum circle is known for.
That and making a joyful noise.
See you in the round!

Looking for some folks who wanna play sports, go fishing, and eat copious amounts of food.
This is very much a Gym BRO vibe sorta trip, although I personally dont drink, I'm not gunna shame ya if you do. Nothing is set in stone yet, but looking to gauge interest.Possible Locations: Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun
Possible Hotels: Higher Energy Resorts (examples include Royalton Chic Cancun)
Fishing: Going for the Big stuff! If you want to bring in something big, that's what I'm hunting for. Marlin, Tuna and maybe some Grouper, hopefully we can eat what we catch.TLDR: If you are in relatively good shape, like sports and fishing, wanna disappear for a week with folks from across Canada, give me a shout!
Some answers in case they come up:
Q: Is this a lifestyles trip?
A: You do you! Not quite my game but I wont bat an eye. What happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico!Q: Who are you and where are you from?
A: I'm a typical nobody from Regina, Sask. I don't take life too seriously (on vacation anyhow), politically fairly incorrect (this is my disclaimer for off base jokes) and like activities. Food, vibes and energy is what I am looking to gain out of this trip, and hopefully a couple friends along the way.Q: When do you anticipate the trip?
A: Honestly, kinda flexible. Depends on what we can hash out.Q: I'm a girl, this vibes well, can I join?
A: Yes. I have no issues with this so long as you are cool!

1. No-fault compensation, which means workers are paid benefits regardless of how the injury occurred. The worker and employer waive the right to sue. There is no argument over responsibility or liability for an injury.
2. Security of benefits, which means a fund is established to guarantee funds exist to pay benefits.
3. Collective liability, which means that covered employers, on the whole, share liability for workplace injury insurance. The total cost of the compensation system is shared by all employers. All employers contribute to a common fund. Financial liability becomes their collective responsibility.
4.. Independent administration, which means that the organizations who administer workers’ compensation insurance are separate from government.
5. Exclusive jurisdiction, which means only workers’ compensation organizations provide workers’ compensation insurance. All compensation claims are directed solely to the compensation board. The board is the decision-maker and final authority for all claims.

Hi, my name is Carla Klassen and I am an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter here in Saskatoon. I lead a monthly practice group for people wanting to better their fluency in ASL. All activities can be modified to meet your signing abilities. If you are new to ASL and are thinking about taking classes but would like to try it out first, this is a great place to see if you like it. If you are learning sign and need people to practice with, this group is for you. If you are fluent and would like to help out, we would love to have you join us. All levels of sign ability are welcome. It is FREE to attend! No materials required, just your hands.
There is no need to register ahead of time, simply show up and join us!The next time we will meet is on June 15th, from 5:30-7:00pm to work on "Surrogacy" in Kinsmen Park. (across from the Wonderhub) Bring a lawn chair/blanket to sit on, bug spray and a water bottle if you would like. We practiced Surrogacy in May, but will continue to practice it again in June. If the weather doesn't cooperate, check in on this ad. on June 15th and I will provide an alternate meet up location. (same time)
Surrogacy is when our body becomes a person or object, and our body movement adds description and/or the function/movement. Often this added in conversation, storytelling, teaching..... but used so briefly, that we may miss it, but it is a vital part of ASL. It is used briefly, but often. Often the signer will become the surrogate for 2-3 seconds and then step out again, then in a moment or two, slip back in for a few seconds.
Surrogacy is very similar to Visual Vernacular (V.V.) which is form of theatre that uses poetry, mime, gesture and facial expression to capture the nuance and subtleties of the world around us.
Surrogacy however is not specifically for theatre and isn't a form of poetry. Surrogacy is used to explain function or to add description. This short video describes surrogacy in regards to character surrogacy starting at 5:10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlROujE_sLQ check it out if you would like to know more before we meet on the 15th.
Both Visual Vernacular and Surrogacy are visual descriptors. Visual vernaculars (are longer in length, like a story or poem) and would not be voiced, but rather shown, as they are meant to be understood by any audience regardless of hearing status. Surrogacy is typically something that a narrator or stage directions would say. For example: he stood there looking confused. or the washing machine was in spin cycle. If the signer chose to become the character and look confused as opposed to sign "He looked confused" that would be surrogacy, just as if the signer chose to become the washing machine on spin cycle instead of signing "it was on spin cycle".
I hope to see you there!
-Carla

Vancouver singer-songwriter recording artist Norine Braun is touring as an acoustic duo with partner Alice Fraser on keys and harmony vocals. Their June Prairie Tour is featuring original songs from her latest album Songs For Trees and her many other bluesy roots rock favourites.
Norine's 13th album, Songs For Trees, dedicated to the forests and the spirits within the trees. As we fight climate change, trees are the lungs of the planet. Her groove based roots, jazz and blues are blended with some rock and synthetic pop elements to create a textured and ambient soundtrack to nature. Songs For Trees is a narrative, with each song guiding us through a journey through the forest. A trip literally and metaphorically about the interconnectedness of all things.
Listen to them live at Keyhole Castle! A national historic site built in 1913, there's a gorgeous ballroom that's the perfect place for concerts! Get your tickets today! https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/norine-braun-and-alice-fraser-house-concert-at-keyhole-castle-tickets-624866822487?aff=Kijiji
