Personal support worker / compagnion
Description
Looking for a part-time support worker for our son in St.John's East.
Hours per week are anywhere between 4 and 16 hours. This could be now or starting in August, or starting anywhere inbetween.
He is 26 years old, non-verbal with intellectual disabilities. He has a pleasant character with lots of smiles, especially if those around him engage with him. He needs support with daily life skills, as much as a compagnion.
Preferred is a person who has expience with being and/ or working with persons with intellectual disabilities., who is positive, engaging, energetic and equipped with patience.
The worker would take our son out into the community for activities and socializing, like the G. Rubia Center. At times this requires taking and lifting a foldalbe adult stroller onto the Gobus or in the car - the stroller is not a light-weight object.
