My husband and I are expat Canadians who sold everything during Covid, and bought a hotel in beloved Surfside community of Costa Rica. Much of our cottage time was spent on the shores of Turkey Point, fishing, BBQing and enjoying the water (and of course Pottahawk) with family and friends. Prices for cottage rentals have gotten quite high over the years so we are thrilled to open our doors to fellow cottagers throughout the upcoming summer and fall season. About the area: Chorotega House in popular Surfside Potrero, offers a tranquil family retreat for unforgettable vacations in the picturesque Flamingo Marina area in Guanacaste region. Famous for being a safe and centralized location for easy day tripping, and home to 3 of the 5 best beaches in all of Costa Rica! You are a 5min walk to popular Potrero beach where you can rent all the water toys to satisfy all ages, or enjoy sunset cocktails at nearby trendy restaurants or hit up a yoga class and markets. This area has it all and it's only 45 minutes from Liberia Airport.
About the house: This solid bungalow called Casa Chorotega after the indigenous tribe of the area is fully equipped and can accommodate six people comfortably. There is an ambient backlit king size bed, with private ensuite bathroom, boasting a rare adobe style handcrafted inground soaker tub. There is also a second bath room for a bedroom with 2 single beds, and a third bedroom with a deluxe comfort, splitable king size bed. The kitchen boasts trendy authentic handcrafted encaustic tiles from Nicaragua, made in the same way as they did it over 100 years ago. The living area is adorned with “sweated” antique indigenous masks that were worn in ceremony many years ago, and some hunting artifacts from a nearby tribe. This is truly an authentic jungle lux experience. This villa is located on the grounds of our small boutique hotel, so you will get a whole resort to just yourselves! For the first time ever the hotel will be otherwise closed, but still staffed, and we'll be around so you literally can have a whole resort rental for a fraction of the typical cost. Pricing is $1500/wk which works out to about $35 per person per night based on 6 guests max. And progressive discounts up to $20 or less per person per night for longer term rentals! Plus a 1x cleaning fee of $100.
