Kitchen helper/baker helper (NOC 65201)

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced kitchen helper/baker helper to join our bagel making team. Must be competent and experienced in a fast paced kitchen work environment. Minimum 1 year experience baking or kitchen work required. Experience in bagel making preferred. Must be dependable, flexible, have excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills, and be a team player. Ability to deliver friendly customer service is also essential. 

Job duties include but are not limited to:

-Assist in preparation of bagels

-Mix, portion and hand roll dough

-Boil and bake bagels according to established protocols to ensure product quality

-Assist in preparation and production of bagel sandwiches and their ingredients

-Welcome customers, take orders, and process payment at point of sale

-Package bagels and monitor for quality control of product

-Process special orders

-Thorough daily cleaning of bagel shop and all kitchen equipment

-Follow all food safe practices and standards

Physically demanding job. Involves repetitive task, weight handling of up to 20kg, standing for extended periods of time, fast-paced and hot work environment. Attention to detail is essential.

Training Requirements:

-Minimum of secondary school education and food safety training certificate preferred

-On-the-job training provided

Wage offered: $18-22/hr, depending on experience. Permanent, full time position available (35-40hrs/week).
