If you are a home care worker or "someone who needs a job", we want to hear from you! (You will get paid for training & receive pay back for any of the 3 courses below that you must have.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) First Aid / CPR
2) Police Vulnerable Safety Check
3) Food Handling Course (Thunder Bay District Health Unit)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Good conflict resolution skill
-Strong commitment to providing a safe, respectful and home-like environment for residents
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to contribute to a respectful workplace
DUTES:
-Provides assistance with a variety of household tasks
-We prepare meals and snacks, as determined by the care plan, and use proper food preparation, storage and hygiene practices.
There are 13 highly functional residents who are mostly self sufficient. Ages 20-73 We enjoy a family oriented atmosphere.
-We provide assistance to , residents with laundry and hygiene schedules who require such, although VON & CHO come in to assist those with issues. (Victorian Order Of Nurses & Community Homes For Opportunity).
-Some computer skills required
-Preparation & completion of a daily menu & other aspects of like kind.
-Dispensing meds to clients & logging them in
HOURS OF WORK:
Full time available/ 24 hour shift coverage/a lot of big blocks of time, between meals & coffee, some light duties. ( out of 24 hrs - work gets completed in approximately 6 hrs of actual work. Private bedroom, tv, internet & bathroom for staff. There will be large blocks of time to yourself. Each Staff is required to sleep over night.
Shift time = 11:00 am to 11:00 am the next day.
Clients all in bed as of 9:30 pm & all doors are locked.
