Job Description:Job Description Mabel Lake Golf & Airpark is a small business in ENDERBY, BC. Our goal is to Hire Seasonal Kitchen Staff to join our team this Season. While enjoying one of British Columbia's prime Golf & Travel Destinations. Mabel Lake Golf & Airpark is currently recruiting for our up coming season and looking for a Cooks to join our team. 2-year minimum experience preferred. Our season is short May - October, with slow shoulder seasons and a crazy summer season as we are a resort destination. Our restaurant is looking for a Line Cook, Prep Cook & pizza cooks to help support our busy kitchen. The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team, is reliable and has experience preparing high-quality food. Must have the ability to work under pressure with a sense of urgency. Ability to self-motive and problem solve in a fast-paced setting, while having fun and working as a team. A successful candidate will have experience working in both upscale casual and fast casual environments or Pizza experience and will be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:Support kitchen staff such as cooks, food runners and prep cooks and work as a team.Prepare food according to recipes and customers' needs.Work with team members to ensure that each dish is correctly prepared, cooked and garnished. –Manage food costs.Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies.Oversee workers responsible for cleaning kitchen, dish pits etc.Ensure that the kitchen is clean at all times. –Manage food storage. Estimating and ordering ingredients and supplies.
Experience in a bakery is an asset, however not a deal breaker. More important are good organization and time management skills. Wage is negotiable based on skills and experience. The primary responsibility in this role is to support the Foodservice Manager in the daily operations of our food production facility. This is done primarily through on-the-floor leadership, being a support in task delegation and in training. When the Department Manager is not present, you are responsible to lead the team in the daily operations, which include:
Preparing sandwiches and soups and cold drinks for our Farmhouse Café.
Making quiche, shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, salads and more for our Retail department.
Making caramel apples, fresh apple cider donuts, hot spiced apple cider and more during our fall festival season.
Ensuring food safety and quality control
Monitoring inventory levels in Café, Market, and Freezers.
Following our recipes precisely to ensure consistent product quality.
Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
