RECRUITING: Participants with PTSD for research
Description
Study title: Remembering the past, imagining the future, and personal thoughts in PTSD
We are looking for people to participate in a research study run at Toronto Metropolitan University that explores memory and future thinking in PTSD. We are recruiting 35-50 people with a current PTSD diagnosis or who have symptoms that they think are PTSD. We are also looking for folks who experienced a traumatic event in the past 1-5 years.
Participating in this study first involves a brief telephone interview to see if you are eligible. If you are, then we would invite you to a testing session on videoconference (Zoom) where you would complete mental health interviews, surveys, and tasks that measure memory and thinking. If we invite you to participate, this Zoom session will last around 2.5 hours and you will receive up to $50 for your time.
To be eligible for this study, you should be:
- Between the ages of 30-65
- Have current PTSD
- Free of major neurological conditions
- Free of diagnoses on the psychosis spectrum, free of bipolar disorder, and not have severe difficulties with current substance use
If you want to learn more about the study, please email the student principal investigator, Kesia Courtenay, at kesia.courtenay@torontomu.ca or call 416-979-5000 ext 552192.
