At Verellen Music Academy we offer expert instruction in Early Childhood music classes. Miss. Jacqui holds credentials in Child Developmental Psychology and an Honours Degree in Opera and this has allowed for her programs to be designed with developmental phases in mind. Jacqui has worked extensively with over 300 students under the age of 7, and has designed and taught curriculum for many other schools before opening Verellen Music Academy. Our program for young children, Music Munchkins, was designed for children ages 3-4 years of age and is the preliminary requirement for our second level class, Rhythm Rugrats. The curriculum is designed to prepare young children for private instruction through an array of learning and fun! Throughout the program, students learn the basics of theory, explore various instruments to discover which ones they favour, do listening and dancing exercises and learn solfege and theory, all while creating lasting friendships with their peers. Each semester, students graduate and take home a certification to frame, as follows:
Music Munchkins:
Term 1 - Green level
Term 2 - Blue level
Rhythm Rugrats:
Term 1 - Gold level
Term 2 - Rainbow level
Graduates of both Music Munchkins and then the following Rhythm Rugrats program, are then ready to move into private instruction with one of our Early Childhood private instructors.
