Wanted: Heavy-Duty Mechanic

Hammerstrap Industries is looking to hire a Heavy-Duty Mechanic for work in the Waskatenau area. Applicants are to be reliable, punctual, able to work both independently as well as on a crew, physically fit, have a good work ethic and customer focused attitude.

Responsibilities & duties to include but not limited to:
• Operate and maintain heavy duty and farm equipment
• Install new or replacement parts according to specifications
• Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment as required
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance, ensuring the work done meets manufacturers’ specification and legislated regulations
• Assure completion of all repairs, maintenance requirements and/or modifications

Skills & Education:
• Prior mechanic training (certified Heavy Duty Mechanic) and/or experience required
• High School Diploma/GED equivalent
• Valid Class 1 license
• Experience driving, loading and unloading flat-beds, RGN/lowboy and dovetail trailers
• Winch Truck or Picker Truck experience an asset
• Grain Farm experience an asset

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more and working indoors/outdoors when required.
