Duties and ResponsibilitiesExcellent organization and time management skills
Day-to-day administrative tasks including mail, scanning, photocopying
Answering phones, greeting patients, registering and booking patients
Answering or directing calls and e-mail requests for appointments.
Booking and maintaining appointments/ schedules for specialist
This individual will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days and Saturdays with the potential afternoon/evening shift (TBD)
Updating and maintaining patient charts; Accessing Alberta Netcare and the Clinic EMR
Data entry (patient demographics and information accurately into practice management and EMR systems.
Take payment or create invoices for uninsured services
Required Knowledge and SkillsExcellent data entry and keyboarding skills
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
One to two years of related experience in a clinic setting including knowledge of Medaccess
Current Health Care Provider CPR is required.
Background check:A clear Criminal Background check, inclusive of a vulnerable sector search, is required to start (must be valid within 90 days).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Medical office optometric/ophthalmic assistant required for full time position in specialist eye clinic in Calgary. Must have a vehicle to travel to different clinics. Experience preferred but not essential as training is provided. Must deal well with people, be punctual, responsible, hard working, willing to learn and detail oriented.

• Previous customer service-based experience is an asset.
• The ideal candidate will have demonstrated stability/commitment at previous positions.
• Medical transcription skill is not required. No prior experience required with medical software. We will provide our new Receptionist/Ophthalmic & Administrative Assistant with on the job training for medical software.
• Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Certificate NOT required
• Reception/Administrative Assistant experience NOT required
• No evenings or weekend shifts.We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual with ability to multi-task, communicate courteously and effectively with patients and other medical offices, hospitals and surgical facilities. Our entire interview process is focused on screening for the above mentioned skills. The ability to speak an additional language - even at a basic level - would be an asset.
