Beginning May 1, 2024, a private family-owned company is seeking a Handyperson/Caretaker for a 1,700-acre forest reserve and recreational property (including 4 private residences) located near Sainte-Agathe-Des-Monts, Quebec. ***Please send resume to email provided.***
Main responsibilities include:
-general landscaping and brush cutting (including tree felling);
-clearing, marking and maintaining trails, patrolling lake and checking property boundary lines;
-maintaining road access by plowing snow in winter and grade/ repair as needed in summer;
-coordinating external contractors as required;
-coordinating with forestry engineer and contractors;
-firewood sourcing and splitting;
-regular on-site security checks of buildings and property;
-general daily tasks as required.Skills:
-excellent knowledge of machinery, including operating a tractor, ATV, chain saw and brush cutters.
-ability to work independently (with regular reporting to employer), to think critically, and to propose creative solutions to practical problems as they arise;
-strong organizational and time-management skills;

Do you love the outdoors, arts and crafts, and taking care of grade school kids? Parlez-vous francais? Our family near Saint Sauveur, QC is seeking a live-out nanny to care for our two primary school-aged children this summer. This is a bilingual community - a good working knowledge of French is needed. There are lots of hiking and biking trails, rivers, and lakes. There is no public transportation - you must be comfortable driving the kids around.
Ideally you would:
* be available Monday to Friday for 6-8 hours a day (we are flexible on duration)
* be available from late June through end of July (we can do into August too if that suits everyone)
* come up with a plan for the kids each day (park, library, special outing, arts & crafts, etc)
* taking the kids out for at least part of each day
* prepare lunch and snacks

This will be the easiest job you ever had. Starting Monday.
A young family with two infants are in a custody dispute over one of the children with the child's grandmother. That child is with her parents three days a week for a total of 21 hours a week. The couple have been cleared by CAS which has no concerns about them or their care. The supervisor is needed because the grandmother convinced a judge a year ago that supervision was required. The young couple living in their own home in Hepworth. The six month old son is with them all the time.
All that you are required to do is be in the house for the 21 hours. Bring your computer and work on you crosswords or your next novel or poem or study or read. There is absolutely no work required.
The urgency of the sitatuion is that the daughter' grandather has ben the supervisor for the past year but he ha just been diagnosed with cancer and put on chemotherapy so he does not have the stamina to drive from his home in Owen Sound to the family home in Hepworth.
The young couple are friendly, run their own business out of the house and are waiting to get their 3 year old daughter back when the case goes back to Court in June.
We are offering $20.0 per hour for the right candidate.

- Troubleshoot all system problems including disassemble and reassemble of system components
- Breakdown and repair natural gas burner systems
- Interprovincial Red Seal A Gas Fitter, certified in the province of British Columbia or willing to obtain prior to employment
- Valid Red Seal Journeyperson in HVAC Mechanics, Plumbing, Pipe Fitting or related trade with experience in a heavy industry setting
- Valid driver’s license
- Working knowledge of basic computer systems such as Microsoft Office®

The Crossing Resort is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor. Great opportunity for a qualified individual wanting seasonal work with winters off for travel. We are a family-owned resort located on Highway 93, approximately 80 kms from Lake Louise, AB consisting of a 65-room motel, a large Restaurant, Café, Pub, commercial kitchen, gas station and a general store. There are 45 associate dorm style rooms and 11 small cabins.
This role encompasses both a "hands on" approach as well as the supervisory component.
Salary: $4500.-$6000.00/ month to start. Accommodation and meals are provided for a nominal fee.
Although a seasonal position a future with year-round compensation may present itself to a qualified individual.
Key Responsibilities:
• Take direction from the maintenance Manager and in their absence, carry out the responsibilities of the manager.
• Responsible for the maintenance and repair in all venues, commercial and residential spaces.
Requirements: Experience in any of the following areas a definite asset, commercial kitchen repair, boilers, generator maintenance, plumbing and electrical.
• Must possess good decision-making skills.
• 1 - 2 years in residential and/or commercial maintenance experience preferred.
• Communication and interpersonal skills a necessity. Team player, fast learner and be mechanically inclined.
• Responsible for maintenance and repair in all Crossing venues, commercial and residential spaces.
• Possess some knowledge of HVAC systems, basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry skills.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license. Be prepared to provide a drivers abstract.
• Must speak, write, and read English well.
• Attention to detail, integral and accountable.

Are you looking for a new career opportunity working on some of the world's largest mobile mining equipment? Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, our Mobile Maintenance Electricians are responsible for maintaining the electrical systems on a variety of mobile mining equipment including haul trucks, drills, and shovels in a shop and field environment. Teck has 4 operations based in the Elk Valley B.C. To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as part of a team, and has a willingness to learn and grow.
Responsibilities:- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Maintain, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components on the mobile maintenance fleet
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on mobile mining equipment in a shop or a field environment
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician Certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Familiarity with reading electrical schematics, prints and working knowledge of the Electrical Code
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is an asset
