Retired Biology Teacher offering online tutoring for Biology 20,30 Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Biology.
Please phone or text 780 226 5685 for inquiries.
Schools I commonly tutor for:
Edmonton - Old Scona, HA, LO, JP, Strathcona, Archbishop MacDonald,
Calgary - L.B. Pearson, Sir Winston Churchill, BOB, All Saints, Western Canada, Henry Wise Wood
Victoria - Oak Bay
Having taught these topics for many years I have solid understanding of all the curriculum topics. I know what content needs to be emphasized for exam preparation and I have powerpoint lessons for all topics. I have lots of sample AP, IB, and Biology 30 Diploma style exam questions with keys.
Most students taking the advanced biology programs require two, one hour sessions to keep pace with their course.
Most students that I tutor are working towards careers in the Health Sciences. This is a very competitive area and having an advanced biology specialist working with your child can help them keep up with the pace of the course and give them better understand the more challenging topics. There is an emphasis on making sure students know and understand the content. Gifted students often want deeper learning - linking concepts, applying concepts, working on higher level analytical and critical thinking. Students are often given more challenging questions to work on and then we go over their work making sure any problem areas are addressed.
I use Zoom as a platform to teach. Google docs, PowerPoints, and an electronic pen are my tools for teaching.
Fees $50/session

Hi, I'm Jeff! As Canada's top-reviewed LSAT private tutor with 3,000+ hours of instructional experience, I've helped hundreds of students make massive improvements in their LSAT scores (a recent student went from 144 to 167).
I am not your stereotypical LSAT tutor with a genius-level IQ who aced the test without much effort. Having scored a very disappointing initial diagnostic, I had to learn the LSAT from scratch.
Having personally worked my way up the LSAT totem pole eventually scoring in the 93rd percentile, I know how you can improve your score wherever you are in your LSAT prep journey.
Here are three distinguishing features of my LSAT tutoring practice:
1. I've dedicated my career to teaching this test. I transitioned from being a licensed lawyer to making LSAT tutoring my full-time vocation, helping hundreds of students improve their scores while accumulating thousands of hours of tutoring experience in the process.
2. My students consistently achieve great results (Working with hundreds of students and helping them improve their scores, I am now the most Google-reviewed LSAT tutor in Canada). I also help students with their personal applications and give law school admissions tips.
3. I have experience working with a wide range of students. Whether you are entirely new to the LSAT or you are struggling with speed, I know how to tailor the tutoring to meet your individual tutoring needs. I have a lot of experience working with students with ADHD and learning disabilities as well as non-native speakers.

Recognizing that there is an unmet need for additional support for children with autism and other developmental disabilities, I want to offer my support to those families. After 6 years working in homes and centers and a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Community Services, I have developed a strong ability to support those with developmental disabilities and to empower them in their own worlds. I frame my work with a holistic perspective, recognizing each child as a whole individual with unique interests, capacities, social frame, and needs. Working in your home, I want to help you develop a plan to support the needs of your growing child and to support the ongoing development of your child. If you already have existing therapies and interventions in place, I am very happy to work with those and to help implement them.
Rate: $30/hr
Availability: after 4pm weekdays; weekends negotiable; Clarence-Rockland and surrounding areas only.
Language: primarily English (working on my French still)For your comfort, I am willing to meet first in a public location for an initial meeting/assessment/interview before we finalize any agreement.
Please contact me if you are interested.
My experience is working with children with autism (primarily ages 3 to 10; a couple other diagnoses as well). I have experience working with Occupational Therapist (OT) direction and with Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) direction to meet those goals. I have been trained in ABA Therapy, though prefer to focus my lens on a whole-being and holistic approach that centers the child and their interests first. I also have experience in supporting families in understanding the needs of their children and in adapting their world to best support their child’s development. I am not currently associated with any organization to offer these services, but I can provide you with a clear criminal record check (vulnerable sector) and a copy of my first aid - CPR C certificate. References are available upon request.
