Paid Study: Share Experiences of Illnesses
Description
Using Photovoice to Share Experiences of Illnesses
We are doing this study to understand the experiences of those who survive a critical illness and recover at home. Most individuals treated in an intensive care unit (ICU) will survive, yet many people will suffer new or worsening physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Participants are not required to have experienced these symptoms.
Estimated Commitment
5 weekly 2 hour discussion sessions and a 1 hour weekly activity for 4 weeks. After all 5 group discussions there will be one interview.
What's Involved
You will take part in 5 weekly virtual group photo discussion sessions, facilitated by our patient partner. Over this time, you will generate photographs to illustrate your experiences of recovering from critical illness following hospital discharge. At the weekly virtual meetings, you will share and discuss your photos and the aspects of your experience the photos represent. The content of your photos is up to you. Honorarium: $275.
