Please Help Me Rebuild Stability Before My Baby Arrives
My name is Shea, and I never imagined I would find myself writing this.
I am currently pregnant and living in a winter shelter while trying to navigate one crisis after another. What began as a difficult situation quickly became overwhelming when my motorhome — my shelter, transportation, and one of the few assets I had left — was stolen.
When it was recovered, the challenges didn't end. The vehicle was impounded, resulting in thousands of dollars in fees before I could even access it. Between impound costs, lot rental fees, insurance, repairs, and other expenses, the financial burden has become impossible for me to manage alone.
What has been hardest is that despite reaching out to advocates, community resources, support agencies, and available programs, many of the systems that are supposed to help people in crisis have fallen short. I've spent countless hours making phone calls, filling out applications, attending appointments, advocating for myself, and trying to navigate every available resource. I have done my due diligence. I have asked for help. I have followed directions. I have exhausted options.
Yet I remain stuck between systems.
As someone preparing to bring a child into the world, the reality is frightening. Every day spent without stability is another day worrying about where I will live, how I will prepare for my baby, and whether I will be able to recover the vehicle that could provide a path back to independence.
The financial challenges currently facing me include:
• Approximately $2,000 in impound fees
• Approximately $500 per month in lot rental costs
• Approximately $1,409 in necessary repairs
• Approximately $1,205 in insurance costs
• Emergency living expenses, baby supplies, transportation, and basic necessities
This campaign is not about luxury. It is about survival, stability, and creating a safe foundation for my child.
Any funds raised will be used to:
• Recover and secure my motorhome
• Pay impound and storage fees
• Complete critical repairs
• Maintain insurance coverage
• Purchase essential baby supplies and necessities
• Cover transportation and emergency expenses
• Help me transition toward stable housing and independence
I am determined to keep moving forward. I am actively seeking opportunities, working when I can, advocating for myself, and doing everything possible to improve our situation. I am not giving up.
