DDK Concrete Boom Pump Operator

A concrete pump operator is responsible for the operation of a truck mounted concrete boom pump. Duties of an operator are as follows:
• Drive a concrete pump truck to and from construction sites located throughout the Medicine Hat Alberta Area
• Evaluate the site conditions and set-up the truck appropriately
• Use and care for tools and equipment associated with and including the concrete pump and truck
• Operate the boom and pump as required to place concrete in the desired locations
• Loads and unloads concrete hose and attachments
• Complies with safety regulations and precautionary measures while operating the concrete pump - protects self and others by following work safe procedures
• Conducts routine maintenance and repairs to the machinery
• Various other duties (Operate Stone Slinger Deliver Aggregate unit to Job site, material handling, etc.) to support other business divisions as required
• Communicate effectively, is flexible and discusses and resolves issues
• Complete Daily Pre & Post Trip inspection
• Complete Daily Drivers Log and Time Sheet
• Submit required Job documents on a daily basis

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• 19 years of age or older
• Valid Alberta driver's license or equivalent - Class 3 with Air brakes or Class 1 - clean driver record with minimum 3 years driving experience
• Knowledge of Medicine Hat and area
• Some out of Town and weekend work is possible
• Must be mechanically inclined - basic mechanical knowledge/skills
• Ability to lift objects up to and may exceed 50 lbs (23 kg)
• Must be detail oriented with attention to cleanliness and care of equipment
• Willingness to work flexible hours with varying start/finish times including Saturday shifts (at times required to work long hours
• Must be ability to work independently
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Depth perception, hand-eye coordination and a keen awareness for your surroundings are mandatory
• Must have proper personal protective gear (steel-toe boots, hard hat, protective glasses, gloves) can Supply if required
• Wage is by the hour and would depend on experience
• This is a permanent Seasonal Position
