Please view our City of Brooks Careers Corner page for more details. The City of Brooks requires one (1) Building Maintenance Operator Level II or III, in the Facility Services Department. This is a full-time permanent position that will start immediately. Job Details & Responsibilities: The Building Maintenance Operator takes the lead role in the delivery and administration of the Preventative Maintenance program as it relates to all City of Brooks owned facilities. In addition, you will take the lead role in troubleshooting as per the preventative maintenance program on buildings and building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis including but not limited to inspecting belts and seals, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, greasing bearings, and replacing or repairing minor broken parts. The successful candidate will also complete servicing and minor troubleshooting of carpentry, electrical and plumbing requirements. Level II Education and Experience Requirements: Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent;Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years building maintenance experience in the following areas:Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building maintenance systems;Operation and maintenance of all related small tools and equipment.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;Required qualifications:Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;Clean Driver’s Abstract; andStandard First Aid Certification.Preferred qualifications:5th Class Power Engineering Certificate;Building Maintenance Level I and II Certificate; andConfined Space Certificate.Ability to work with limited supervision;Willingness to upgrade qualifications; andSubject to a criminal record check. Level III Education and Experience Requirements: Completion of a High school Diploma or equivalent;Minimum of five (5) or more years of progressive experience in the following areas:Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building maintenance systems; andOperation and maintenance of all related small tools and equipmentAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;Required qualifications:5th Class Power Engineering Certificate;Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;Clear Driver’s Abstract; andStandard First Aid Certification.Preferred technical requirements:Building Maintenance Level I and II Certificate; andConfined Space Certification.Willingness to upgrade qualifications; andSubject to a criminal record check. WORKING CONDITIONS: Willingness and ability to work outside in all seasons and in all weather conditions as required andAbility to perform physically strenuous work. Compensation & Benefits: The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package with this position falling within the scope of the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1032;The 2024 salary range for this position is $30.80 - $33.74 per hour for level II and $33.29 - $36.47 per hour for level III depending on qualifications and experience. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
