Pool Service Technician
Description
A Pool Service Technician maintains, cleans, and repairs residential or commercial swimming pools and spas to ensure safe, sanitary, and optimal functionality. Key duties include testing water chemistry, balancing chemicals (chlorine/acid), cleaning debris, and servicing equipment like pumps, filters, and heaters.
Key Responsibilities
* Water Chemistry Management: Testing pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels, and adding necessary chemicals to maintain safe, clean water.
* Cleaning & Maintenance: Brushing walls, vacuuming pool floors, skimming debris, and cleaning skimmer baskets.
* Equipment Repair & Installation: Diagnosing, servicing, and replacing pool pumps, motors, filters, and lighting.
* Safety Compliance: Ensuring all safety protocols are followed for chemical handling and pool use.
* Reporting & Logistics: Documenting chemical levels, maintaining service logs, and communicating with customers about needed repairs.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Experience: Previous pool maintenance or HVAC/plumbing experience is highly valued.
* Knowledge: Understanding of water chemistry and pool equipment, often learned on-the-job.
* Physical Requirements: Ability to lift over 50 pounds, bend, twist, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Licensing: Clean driver's license for operating company vehicles, and specific local, state, or provincial certifications.
