Denise Iszczuk and Janneke Vorsteveld are thrilled to announce the launch of our No Boundaries Seasonal Nature Workshops for Grown-Ups, happening once a month. These Saturday workshops provide a chance to engage with your community and nature while delving deeper into the environment.
Each season, we will present a new series of three workshops: Environmental Education, Art, and Survival Skills, all taking place at various locations across Huron County.
The workshops will cost $50 and are scheduled one a month for 3 hours, from 12:30 to 3:30. We will kick off with a group gathering in the morning for introductions, followed by a session of exploration and learning together. The workshops will wrap up with a closing circle to reflect on our shared experiences.
Our focus will be on fun and play. It’s beneficial for everyone, regardless of age (must be 18 plus), to spend time in nature, engaging in playful learning experiences.

I want the community to be aware of the poor conditions that this building is in. I’m referring to the apartment building at 44 Central Ave E Brockville.
The tenants in this building have been dealing with conditions that should be unacceptable in Canada. It’s hard to believe that these issues continue for these residents year after year.
WHEN WILL SOMEONE HELP THESE TENANTS?
The name of the property owner is Franck Ayosso and the name of his company is Ayos Global Force Corporation. He lives and works in the Toronto area and holds a large portfolio of real estate.
In Brockville, he also owns the apartment at 39 Garden and residents from 44 Central say that building also has issues with Franck not taking care of his building.
This building claims it wants older tenants but shows no indication of that. Repairs are slow or completely ignored.
This building is constantly violating City by-laws and in the past has been taken to the Tribunal numerous times for health, safety, and security concerns.
At this present time, the post office is refusing to deliver mail to this building. They haven’t had mail delivered here since the end of September, so this means everyone is required to travel to the post office every day to collect their mail. The owner clearly doesn’t believe it’s his responsibility to replace these.
The reason the post office refused delivery is the constant damage and theft. This has happened numerous times through the last few years but the owner has done nothing to prevent this from happening again. Many of the older tenants in the building don’t use a computer and don’t have access to a vehicle so they can travel to collect their mail. The mailboxes need to be completely replaced.
The buzzer system isn’t fully functional so anyone that moves in here will not get their number connected to the buzzer system. He was ordered years ago by the Tribunal to ensure the buzzer system is fully functional but he is not following it.
There is a long history of the doors not being secured even though he was also ordered by the Tribunal to do so.
Residents are constantly losing money from the laundry machines. Most of the time the machines don’t work. They get constantly broken into then the tenants are left waiting an excessive amount of time before they get repaired. Franck shows no interest in taking action to prevent this from happening again.
The owner of this building has a long history of not paying bills to anyone that he has hired. This is something that needs to be considered before doing any work for this place.
You need to be aware of this and ask hard questions before you or a loved one decide to rent from this place.
You will see cameras in and out of this building but they have little effect. These cameras are outdated and the owner refuses to improve the quality and quantity that is required to reduce the constant theft and vandalism that happens inside and outside the building.
Removing garbage in a timely fashion doesn’t happen at that building. You will see piles of garbage lying outside from not being collected. This has attracted rodents and several residents have mentioned issues with mice and there may also be rats. Inside the garbage room, up the chute, and on each disposal room on every floor is filled with garbage. You will also find garbage left in hallways because they have no other place to put it.
The owner has a history of not removing snow and ice.
The Fire Department had also recently given the owner an Order with a long list complete but I believe he didn't finish everything.
People from this building say the owner usually waits until he receives a deadline to comply or a severe fine will be issued.
I could go on and on but I think you get the message.
The Tenants of this building should not have to live in this condition and many of them believe the owner should be held responsible for his actions even after he has been forced to take care of his property.
He shows a complete disregard for the welfare of his Tenants and shows no concern for maintaining the building and preventing further issues from happening.

It appears that the owner isn't taking care of his building. If you look on the outside of the building you can see a massive amount of garbage sitting on the ground outside of their garbage room.If you take a look at the front and back of the building you can see that their parking garage is condemned due to safety issues.
From what some of the residents are saying that the building no longer requires a key to gain entry through the front of the building and their elevator has been down for over a month. There are people trapped on the higher levels of the building due to mobility issues and the owner doesn't seem to care.
I can only imagine what else is going on inside that building but someone needs to do something.
I've also discovered with a simple Google search that Ayos Global Force Corporation also owns a property
(990 O'connor Dr located in Beaches-East York) in Toronto. Pine needle basketry is one of the oldest-known coiled basketry techniques. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basic methods of making coils from locally available pine needles (3-4 inches in length) and stitching them together with a needle to form a simple basket (2 to 6 inches in size). For generations, people have been using locally sourced and readily available materials to create baskets. In the first class of this two-part workshop, you’ll learn about a variety of local plants that can be used for basketry, as well as items that might be growing in your own yard and home or even found in the fridge. We’ll also go into detail on how to gather, prepare, and dry these items to make baskets. I’ll show a few techniques for making braids and cordage out of natural materials. Finally, we’ll look at how to make inserts with wood and nut slices. In the second half, you’ll be able to use the materials you’ve prepared to make your own small coiled basket. You’ll also learn some of the more complex stitches that can be used in this type of basketry.
While all the tools and materials you’ll need will be provided, feel free to forage locally in your own yard, neighbourhood, or even fridge for items that could become baskets. Some great materials include grasses (long, thin, and leafy are best), long pine needles, cattail leaves, reeds, dandelion stems, cornhusks, iris/crocosmia/lily/daffodil leaves (from the garden or saved from bouquets), young raspberry stalks, burdock stalks, spider plant, bamboo leaves, wild garlic stem, rhubarb stalk, leeks, and even banana skins (bring a whole eating banana if you want to learn to make lovely black cordage). Any items you’d like to work with should be brought to the first class.
If you wish, feel free to also bring your own tools, including scissors, tapestry needle, X-acto knife, old spoon, gloves, thimble, and clipboard (to hold your cordage).

My name is Dearian Seepersad, I'm a Music Teacher, Performer, and Composer. For the last 5 years I've been performing all over the GTA, including: festivals; pride, multi-cultural, afro-fest, private functions, restaurants, bars, and producing my local show while producing tracks for local Toronto artists. Too often, I hear about beginner students horror stories about learning in the classical vein or the lack of purpose in general lesson plans. My focus is to create a unique lesson plan for each student to maximize efficiency while incorporating my teaching style into the plan. I incorporate musical expression, technique, and theory into each lesson while taking we've learnt and reworking it into something original. Composition being the ultimate goal; as we learn a lot quicker thinking for ourselves. There are no limitations, I've taught and performed in many genres: Classical, Jazz, Rock,Pop,Reggae, Blues, Hip-hop, Gospel, Fusion, the list goes on... So who am I? I'm a 24 year old musician who's extremely passionate about ALL music. - Completed 3 years Mohawk College Applied Music program. - 5 years teaching experience. (Includes leading band rehearsal and performances) - Developed and promoted shows - Constantly studying the scripts of the great classical composers. - Most important: Patient and Understanding. The lessons I'm offering are: Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Recording, and Drums. For those planning to witness the Total Solar Eclipse on the afternoon of April 8th, (between 2:09 p.m. and 4:35 p.m.) please do so responsibly and safely. Never look at a partially eclipsed Sun without proper approved eye protection (marked - ISO#12312-2) or permanent damage to your eyes can occur! The Peterborough Region (north of Port Hope) is not in the path of “Totality”, but will have a deep partial eclipse phase (see attached image). Eye protection is required at all times to observe any portion of this!
