Adrien is a young and unique Toronto-based guitarist (b. 2000). An aspect of his musical identity that sets him apart from nearly all other guitarists is his use of p4, or “all-fourths” tuning, rather than standard tuning, which he taught himself in 2018. Adrien enjoys playing in a variety of settings - he works in small jazz combos, traditional and modern jazz orchestras, and musicals. He has also been gifted with opportunities to perform as a featured artist in choirs, chamber orchestras, and on live radio broadcasts. In his playing, he strives for an organic and melodic sound.
Before beginning his post-secondary studies, Adrien had the privilege of studying guitar with Stan Russell and Lorne Lofsky, and ear training and music theory with Bill Gliddon. During his time at the University of Toronto, Adrien has taken private lessons with David Occhipinti and Geoff Young.
Adrien will be graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance for jazz guitar in 2022.
Adrien is currently instructing only online or at his location around Bloor/Spadina Toronto. Requests to study within the music faculty may be granted with his permission.

Hello, my name is David Williamson – I am a professional musician offering guitar and music theory lessons to the folks of Ottawa and Gatineau. I’ve been giving guitar lessons for nearly a decade and am searching for new students who are excited to hone their musicianship with my in-person or online guitar lessons.
Here are some commonly asked questions:
- How much do my lessons cost?
Lessons are $60.00 for a full hour, or $35.00 for a half-hour. These prices apply to 1 on 1 instruction given at my studio or online. If you are interested in having me drive to your residence to provide lessons, or want to inquire about group lessons, then please contact me and we’ll work out a fair agreement. *If you are interested in a trial lesson, I am happy to offer a free 20 minute orientation either in person or online.
- How do you have a Juno?
I recorded most of the guitars on the Album Long River by Angelique Francis, which won the Juno for Best Blues Album of 2022.
- Where are the lessons located?
I live in Aylmer in near Allumettiers and Samuel Edey.
- What’s my availability like?
I am available to teach from the hours of 9:00am to 8:00pm on weekdays.... but things are filling up! More morning and afternoon availability.
- What makes me qualified to teach guitar?
In addition to having been a guitar teacher for nearly a decade, I have a bachelors degree in Music performance from Carleton University as well as many years of experience playing live performances and travelling with various groups.
- What kinds of students am I looking for?
My typical age-range for students is 13 - 65, however I welcome all students who are excited to share in the gift of learning a musical instrument. No one is excluded!
- What kinds of topics do I teach?
Almost any topic you can think of! In nearly 10 years of teaching, I have helped students work through a myriad of questions and dilemmas pertaining to the guitar (and music in general)! Just a few specialties are: Techniques such as hybrid picking, legato, building speed and developing a strong sense of rhythm - Music theory topics i.e., modes, chord/scale relationships, fretboard visualization, harmony analysis - Audition preparation - Just simply learning your favorite songs and answering all kinds of questions you may have!
- Which genres do I teach? – Almost everything! I’ve taught everything from country to death metal. Genres like rock, pop, jazz, franco and RnB tend to be a little more commonly requested, but almost nothing is off the table! The only style I don’t teach is Royal Conservatory classical guitar.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
*I am nearly bilingual and continue to improve my French speaking and writing every day, but its not perfect yet. If you are a student who needs to or would prefer to take lessons in French, I would greatly appreciate for you to give me the opportunity to improve my French so that I can offer better lessons to more people.Bonjour, je me nomme David Williamson.

Special Summer Promotion: Free trial lesson
Why choose online lessons?
- flexible scheduling
- competitive rates
- variety of excellent teachers to choose from
- variety of instruments (guitar, drums, ukulele, banjo, bass)Have you ever tried learning guitar or drums from Youtube videos or online subscriptions, then given up and tossed the guitar back in the closet? It’s hard to know where to start, or where to go next. You might need a little encouragement and accountability to push to the next level. And when you’re trying to learn on your own, you need an experienced instructor to guide you through the process and watch to make sure you’re playing with the right form and technique.
We have an experienced and motivating group of teachers; we will pair you up with a teacher that you are comfortable with and look forward to learning from. We can also work with your schedule and budget to make sure the lessons are convenient and within your budget.
With online private lessons, we focus on exactly what you’re interested in, and design lessons that suit your ability and learning style. Whether you plan a career in music, or just want to be ready to play your favourite songs around the campfire, we’ve got you covered. You call the shots…and we'll guide you through it.
We use a free program called Zoom which allows for screen sharing. This means we can do things like listen to music simultaneously and look at tabs or chord charts on screen together. You can also record the lesson and work through it again later.
Along with guitar and drums, we also offer ukulele, bass, banjo, and mandolin lessons. This is your chance to try something new or get to the next level in your playing. And we're here to help you get there.Bios

If you're looking to find out what the guitar can really do, and uncover some of the mysteries that may be holding you back from becoming the kind of player that you can truly be, perhaps I can be of service. I am offering private, comprehensive guitar and bass lessons. in the confort of your home. Online lessons, through Zoom, are also available when a meeting in person is not possible. These courses are available to anyone, whether you are a beginner who has never played before, or a more advanced player who wants to get some theoretical concepts in order, or learn new styles of playing. I welcome anyone to join me for an interesting, and, hopefully, inspiring hour lesson on an ongoing basis, where we cover all kinds of things together and you get instruction from an experienced guitarist and teacher who has been playing for decades, and can work with you and certainly provide you with the guidance and support that you need in order to reach your objectives as a player, all in an atmosphere of discovery and fun, because, after all, that's really what attracts people to the guitar, isn't it...it's fun! That's what attracted me, and the longer that I play, the more fun I have!
If you're interested, you're welcome to contact me, and I would be happy to provide you with more detailed information concerning my approach to teaching, and how the lessons work. In closing, I should also mention that, when necessary, I will supply a back-up video of the things that we're covering in our lessons as a bit of reinforcement, and for situations where we're learning a new piece of music or working on a new theoretical concept. That way you can actually play along with me as if we were together, even though we're not. More details on rates and scheduling always available; just send me a message.
