Axolotls are fascinating creatures! They are a type of salamander that never fully undergoes metamorphosis, which means they retain their aquatic features throughout their lives. They have external feathery gills, a long tail, and can come in various colors. Axolotls are native to Mexico and are known for their regenerative abilities. They make unique and captivating pets! They have adorable smiles, feathery gills, and develop a close bond with their owners, like little water puppies !♥️
Taking proper care of Axolotls is important to ensure their health, lifespan and happiness. Here are a few tips:
*Any axolotls will go home with a care sheet along with a guide to find the perfect things for your axolotl around the city*
PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE MESSAGING!!
1. Tank setup: Provide a spacious tank with clean, dechlorinated water. USE ONLY SEACHEM PRIME WATER CONDITIONER. Axolotls need at least 20 gallons (75.7L) MINIMUM of water per baby axolotl.
2. Water conditions: Maintain a temperature between 60-68°F (15-20°C) and use a water filter to keep the water clean. Avoid direct sunlight as it can harm them. Axolotls prefer COLD water, you can achieve this with a water chiller, OR by using a fan directed at the filter!
3. Feeding: Feed your baby axolotls small, live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, or daphnia. Offer food once a day, adjusting the portion size as they grow. As adults they can be offered a variety of foods such as nigh crawlers, blood worms, raw shrimp, and some types of raw fish.!!
4. Handling: You should not handle your axolotls unless need be. They have delicate skin, so it's best to minimize handling to prevent stress or injury.
5. Tank mates: Axolotls do best as solitary animals or in a trio of same gender groups! Keeping males and females together will result in overbreeding of a female and possible death.
Remember, these are just some basic guidelines. It's always a good idea to do further research to make sure you are ready to own an axolotl!

I ship every Monday via Canada post, OR FedEx for Shrimps during the warm months. Cut off for shipments is 6pm every Sunday, for Monday ship. Pickup is at our house in Markham monday to thurs after 6pm or sat before 11am or after 6pm. Shipping costs are calculated at check out. Pickup info will be asked for after checkout to confirm, usually, we need 24 hours to prep the package.
