Job Description:Commissioning Startup LOTO Specialist * Duration: 01-Apr-2023 - 28-Oct-2023 * Work Location: Saskatoon, SK * Hiring Type: Contract Description: Position as a Commissioning Startup (CSU) LOTO Specialists will be responsible for managing Lockout/Tagout for a Combined Cycle power plant. This position will be responsible for managing hazardous energy for both electrical and mechanical systems. Candidate will have experience managing LOTO on major industrial projects. The candidate must always demonstrate safe work practices, all work will be performed in a safe manner. Safe work practices for the protection of people and equipment is essential to keep everyone safe on the project site Commissioning Startup LOTO specialist position is a challenging, high intensity and rewarding. Candidate needs to be extremely detailed oriented, with a strong aptitude for hands on field work, and the ability to direct construction craft labor to complete the plant commissioning work. Candidate need to be able to communicate both verbally and written with management, client and subcontractors to communicate the work completed or work to be completed. Personnel will develop detailed commissioning plans and procedures to complete the commissioning of equipment and/or systems. All commissioning will be fully documented and tracked to verify the proper execution of all preoperational testing, initial operation and performance testing. LOTO manager will be responsible for safety of all personnel working under their direction, all work will be done in a safe manner. LOTO specialists will follow BMCD lockout tagout policies and procedures. Position is a field position and will require candidates to work in substations, power plants, industrial processing facilities at customer locations and will include extended travel (100%). Position will require overtime, weekend, and holiday work based on project needs during critical phases of the startup and commissioning process. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 10 years start-up experience for a similar facility, preferably in supervisory role. Position requires excellent communications skills. Evraz Pool and Park is recruiting for several Temporary/Full-time Lifeguards at our Regina location for the 2023 summer (May Long weekend to September Long weekend). These positions are full-time hours scheduled between Monday-Sunday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. We are currently looking to hire 1 Pool Manager, 2 Pool Supervisor and 9 Lifeguards:
- Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed and in cases of emergency, performs first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.
- Carries out responsible lifeguard and instructional duties and ensures a safe and healthy environment conducive to aquatic enjoyment and education.
- Assumes responsibility for individual lesson plans, class attendance, class evaluations, progress cards, and test sheets as required.
- Enforces swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined in the Evraz Pool Procedures.
- Supervises the activities of the patrons using the facility, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintains good public relations with patrons and facility staff.
- Assists in cleaning and disinfecting daily duties.

Requirements
Experience in dealing with clients at aquatic facilities providing lifeguarding and recognized Lifesaving Society instructional services. Must possess the following awards and certifications:

- Lifesaving Society Aquatics Emergency Care (AEC) with CPR Level C
- Canadian Red Cross CPR Level C
- St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid: CPR Level C
Must have ALL of the following:
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service (NLS – Pool Option)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Methanex is currently seeking a Control Systems Specialist to join the team in Medicine Hat, AB on a full-time basis.
The Control Systems Specialist manages the maintenance and development of standards, procedures, and relevant documentation relating to the Methanex Medicine Hat site. The successful candidate ensures the maintenance, storage, and distribution of DCS critical drawings are properly controlled while providing expert knowledge, advice, and direction to management and co-workers on configurable control systems.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:- Provide administration of the main plant safety and control systems that includes system software, system configuration, and graphics archiving per site policy
- Troubleshoot safety and control system failures with Maintenance/Technical/Operations personnel
- Monitor and maintain site control system architecture (safety system, DCS, 3rd party equipment)
- Collaborate closely with Process and Operations teams in the analysis of plant trips/upsets, including sequence of events and historian data gathering and analysis
- Tuning control loops to achieve safe and stable operation
- Provide field support to maintenance personnel when troubleshooting issues with instrumentation
- Provide support in the use of AMS
- Implement procedures and policies in accordance with vendor recommendations, Global Methanex Standards, and industry-recognized best practices to maintain the sites control system safely and reliably
- Review/update all control system working documents such as logic diagrams, complex loop descriptions, and cause/effect matrix
- Ensure sufficient spares are maintained based on historical system failures to ensure continued safe and reliable operations
- Support Alarm Rationalization efforts, and the monitoring of Alarm Management
- Implement and/or oversee installation and commissioning of new logic and connected devices in coordination with Operations
- Ensure safety validation testing is conducted per the agreed cycle (this will include partial stroke testing and safety system validation for plant restarts)
- Participate as required in Process Hazard Analyses and Risk Assessments
- Network with other Methanex sites to ensure standards of the control system are maintained and the latest global best practices are incorporated
- Ensures compliance with all Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) responsibilities, relative to the role, as per the PEIM Manual
- Ensure employee and contractor compliance with Methanex policies, procedures, and applicable standards
- Train and mentor to ensure successful knowledge transfer within various disciplines throughout the organization
- Conducts all business in a manner that supports the Responsible Care ethic
To qualify, you will need either a degree in Chemical/Electrical Engineering or are currently a certified Engineering Technologist/Journeyperson in Instrumentation, along with possessing 5 years of relevant working experience on Safety PLCs and DCS/BPCS.
Additionally, the following assets would be preferred, but not required:- Technical and working knowledge of control systems and change management/maintenance philosophies
- Working knowledge of Triconex and Delta V systems
- Working knowledge of Control system archive systems would be an asset
- Working knowledge of PLC systems and software
- Working knowledge of equipment specification, sizing, and selection
- Working knowledge of field instrumentation and electrical equipment
- Superior proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs and web-based applications
- Work experience within the chemical process industry would be an asset

Commissioning Startup LOTO specialist position is a challenging, high intensity and rewarding. Candidate needs to be extremely detailed oriented, with a strong aptitude for hands on field work, and the ability to direct construction craft labor to complete the plant commissioning work. Candidate need to be able to communicate both verbally and written with management, client and subcontractors to communicate the work completed or work to be completed.
Personnel will develop detailed commissioning plans and procedures to complete the commissioning of equipment and/or systems. All commissioning will be fully documented and tracked to verify the proper execution of all preoperational testing, initial operation and performance testing. LOTO manager will be responsible for safety of all personnel working under their direction, all work will be done in a safe manner. LOTO specialists will follow BMCD lockout tagout policies and procedures.
Position is a field position and will require candidates to work in substations, power plants, industrial processing facilities at customer locations and will include extended travel (100%). Position will require overtime, weekend, and holiday work based on project needs during critical phases of the startup and commissioning process.

Responsibilities
The LOTO specialist is responsible for the Lockout/Tagout of the Combined Cycle power plant. Candidate will have experience in operating gas turbines, HRSG, steam turbines and other power plant systems and equipment.
