Castle Construction is currently looking to add a Heavy Duty Mechanic to its maintenance team. Position will be based out of Virden, MB.
Responsibilities
- Complete repairs on CAT/Deere equipment and highway truck/trailers
- Work closely with peers in both maintenance and operations.
- Complete annual safety inspections on highway trucks and trailers
- Preventative maintenance and servicing of all equipment including oil sampling.
- Check equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- Trouble shooting systems – example: hydraulic, electrical & mechanical of all equipment and determine faults and extent of repair.
- Complete reports and fill out work orders.
- Follow Castle codes of practice and Safe Operating Procedures.
- Will be a combination of shop and field repairsQualifications
- Possess mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities.
- Capable of working without supervision.

Job Summary
This position primarily involves shop fabrication and welding of steel components. Overtime may be required to comply with the production schedule.
Requirements
Experience - Three years in a similar industry would be an asset but is not required. Training will be provided to the ideal candidate.
Education - CWB certification, or the ability to obtain a CWB certification is required. Red Seal Welding Certificate would be an asset but is not required.
Skills - The applicant must have the following abilities: interpret drawings and follow specific instructions, work under pressure, meet deadlines and perform in a collaborative team setting or independently. Lastly, the applicant must also be able to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects.
