Position Overview
Our culinary team goes the extra mile to ensure our guests are nourished with incredible food, so they can enjoy their ski vacation to the fullest. The role is heavily cleaning based, including daily deep cleaning tasks in the kitchen area.
The First Cook is responsible for preparing a packed lunch for the ski program each day, as well as preparing lunch for staff and guests at the lodge. The First Cook is a food-oriented individual dedicated to quality, creativity, and consistency.
This is a seasonal job opportunity. The CMH summer season runs from late-June to end of August. Daily rate of pay is based on an 11-hour day, worked as a split shift. A typical schedule consists of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. Accommodation is available while on shift, at no extra cost, for staff joining our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and package lunches for the field program and for the staff and guests remaining at the lodge.
- Participate in menu planning, ordering, and receiving, as required.
- Attend all staff and department meetings, as required, including pre-service line-ups.
- Demonstrate tidy grooming and professional appearance.
- Safe and efficient food handling, knife handling, meal plating.
- Understand and maintain accurate kitchen stocking and dry storage rotation.
- Dishes, dishes, and more dishes throughout each shift.
- Daily deep cleaning tasks in and around the kitchen area.
- Perform radio duty, as required, to support field operations.

Work Environment:- This job is in a remote area of British Columbia. Employees are required to find their own way to and from the lodge for work shifts which includes driving on logging roads.

- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.

We’re looking for part-time help starting in mid-September for 19hrs/week to help keep our lives organized! Start date is flexible into October. We both work full time and we primarily need help with dinners and keeping our house clean and tidy. On weekends, we are seeking childcare for a half day. We live in beautiful Canmore, AB so this may be a great opportunity for someone with care-giving experience to get very nice accommodation in exchange for some household help, or for a competitive wage that is largely based on experience and at a minimum of $18/hr. We're looking for help Mon-Fri, ~4-7PM, and Saturdays ~9AM-1PM. On weekdays, we are seeking after-childcare help with meal prep and cooking, keeping the kitchen tidy and household cleaning. We have a cozy home, so cleaning is not too big of an activity! We are flexible with the times, as long as it works out to get dinner on the table at a reasonable time. On Saturdays, we are seeking 4hrs of morning childcare for our 18month old happy daughter and this is also flexible. We understand that housing is difficult to find in the bow valley so we are making our fully contained, legal suite available for swap for a single tenant, for this part-time help.
