Test Technician Overview: This position is responsible for testing the product to ensure all quality standards have been met as per Cam Tran and CSA policies and regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Test product to ensure it meets all Cam Tran, CSA and customer specifications. * Prepare test reports as required. * Perform C & D test as required. * Assists in trouble shooting failures. * Informs the line operators on quality control issues as necessary. * Adheres to Cam Tran safety policies and procedures. * Prepared required paperwork on a timely basis. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Mission Assurance Auditor. Education and Experience: * Electrical Engineering Technician Diploma or relevant experience considered an asset. * Knowledge of the product and plant operations. * Knowledge of ISO 9000 series standards. * Knowledge of regulatory (IEEE/ANSI & CSA Standards) and customer specifications. Skills: * Ability to communicate with and provide direction effectively to the line operators. * Ability to read wiring diagrams. * Must be well organized and able to make independent judgments. * Must be able to work in a team environment. Measures of Performance: * Quality of the line output. * Effectiveness in preparing the required quality reports. Your new role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on heavy equipment.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
- Think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
- Interpret work order and technical manuals.
- Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed.
- Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
- Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
- Work remotely in adverse weather conditions. Job tasks may be physically demanding lifting up to 50 lbs. Confined Space work is required.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will possess a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other requirements include:- Strong commitment to safety
- Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Some positions may require the ability to travel and meet customer site requirements
- Experience with Komatsu equipment is considered an asset
- Interprovincial Red Seal is considered an asset
