I am looking to join, or if need be start, a songwriters' group in the London East to Woodstock area. It would be an environment where active songwriters of all levels could come to test out their new material on other songwriters and receive positive feedback and suggestions. Is there anything currently happening like that in the area? Let me know if there already is a group or if you would be interested in joining such a group.

On Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Isabel in our Ligeti & Tchaikovsky concert, the Kingston Symphony takes a glimpse into the sound worlds of three extraordinary composers, and all the treasures, surprises, and delights found therein. From the sumptuous satisfaction of Maxime Goulet’s Symphonic Chocolates to Ligeti’s titanic Violin Concerto to the plumbing of the emotional depths of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, this music will linger with you long after the final note has rung out.
Joining us in our exploration of these sound worlds is solo violinist Mark Fewer. Described as “genre-bending” by the National Post, and “intrepid” by the Globe and Mail, Fewer has performed around the world to critical acclaim in virtually every role asked of a violinist - and then some. His regular musical diet includes performances from early Baroque to avant-garde, with recent performances as soloist with ensembles as wide-ranging as the Melbourne Symphony (Australia), the Fodens-Richardson Brass Band (UK), the Zapp Quartet (Amsterdam), and the McGill Percussion Ensemble (Montreal).
"Ligeti's Violin Concerto is one of the hardest things you could possibly imagine to play. This piece is performed extremely rarely because the solo part is virtually impossible. It is also a transcendental experience to hear it." - Maestro Evan Mitchell.
