Ballet Kelowna celebrates the many facets of love and relationships with a special Valentine’s Day program, Ex Animo: From the Heart, on February 14 + 15, 2025, at the Kelowna Community Theatre. The winter program welcomes back three of Ballet Kelowna’s most esteemed choreographers, featuring the world premiere of payɛčot yɛχət (“I always remember” in Ayajuthem) from Associate Artist Cameron sinkʷə Fraser-Monroe, in which he explores his relationship to hoop dance – one of his earliest dance influences; the world premiere of Vestiges, a work that searches for connection and meaning amid disorder, from Canadian choreographic luminary Alysa Pires in her third work for the company; and the anticipated return of the passionate and uplifting In the Light of the Waking Sun from Robert Stephen. Canadian Country Music Legend Carroll Baker bringing her final Canadian Tour to Regina!
Carroll Baker, "Canada's First Lady of Country Music" has announced plans for her final tour in the spring of 2025. After an extraordinary career she will grace stages across the country one more time bringing her cherished songs and signature performances to life "One Final Time".
Carroll Baker has been a powerhouse in the industry for over 55 years. Her remarkable career includes more than twenty #1 hits, fourteen albums, four compilation albums, and an astounding fifty five singles, solidifying her place as one of the most celebrated figures in Canadian music.
Carroll's final tour will cover more than twenty cities where fans will have the chance to experience the magic of her greatest hits and timeless classics one last time.
Her career launched in 1970 with her breakout song, "Mem-ries of Home", one that remained on the charts for an amazing twenty six weeks. Subsequent hits included “Ten Little Fingers”, and the AA anthem “One Drink Is One Too Many (and a thousand’s not enough)”. Between 1970 and 1982 she released 31 consecutive charting singles and hosted her own CBC television show, The Carroll Baker Jamboree. Her platinum album Hymns of Gold and five Juno Awards cemented her status as a country music legend. Baker’s accolades include induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 1982 and her appointment to the Order of Canada in 2009.

Members of the community are encouraged to come out and be part of our audience and enjoy an evening of musical entertainment for FREE!
OPEN STAGE Night at Barrie Public Library Painswick Branch Wednesday April 10th from 600pm - 830pm
Join the Barrie Folk Society, a not-for-profit organization that cares about the growth and nurturing of the folk/roots music movement in our community, as they share their passion for acoustic music. Listen to the sound of live music or bring your instrument and play your favourite tunes in an “OPEN STAGE” format.
Different from the event at the downtown branch, the format for this event will be an “OPEN STAGE” event for acoustic musicians. Each performer (solo or groups) will have the opportunity to take the stage to perform a three-song set (of no more than 15 minutes). This is intended to be an opportunity to get comfortable performing in front of others or to see how an audience responds to your original material.
The event will run on the second Wednesday of the month from 6-830 pm and sign up time will begin at 5:45 pm. There will be 10 guaranteed spots. At the conclusion of the 10 performances the host will apportion the remaining time available between those that have not yet performed and/or give others a chance for extra songs.

Barrie Game Exchange returns for our spring 2024 Event. Now Canada’s largest Video Game and Geek Culture trade show featuring over 200 exhibitor tables and largest selection of video games anywhere in Canada!
Sunday May 5th at East Bayfield Community Centre 80 Livingstone Street East, Barrie, Ontario.
With over 12,000 square feet we will again be offering tons of room for vendors, more room for patron and more room for all the things you love. As always we will have THE MOST video games and related merchandise ANYWHERE in Canada!

Now accepting vendor applications for the Tay Township Canada Day Celebrations.
Join us on Saturday June 29/24 at the Oakwood Community Centre located at 290 Park Street in Victoria Harbour for this exciting event!
The vending portion of this event will run from 11am – 3pm, but you are welcome to stay longer if you are still selling.
If you are not familiar with this event, here are some of the highlights:
• Canada Day parade down Park Street
• Artisan/Vendor booths for all our anxious shoppers
• Exotic Animals Petting Zoo
• Face Painters/Balloon Twister
• Unicyclist/Comic Juggler
• FREE hamburgers/sausages for ALL (yes – including our vendors!) at Oakwood Community Centre after the parade
• Local musical entertainment all afternoon
• Evening entertainment in the Big Top. Join us for a night of Rock with Trilogy Classics Live featuring tributes from Styx, Journey and Foreigner! This is a 19+ licensed event.Our whole community comes together to support this event and celebrate together. Proceeds will go to support local charities. The cost is $30 for a 10x10 space or $50 for a 10x20 space. Please note that no hydro is available for this event.
Spaces are limited – please contact us ASAP if you would like more information or a vendor package.
