We are seeking an eager self-starting Harvest Vessel Deckhand to join our Harvest Team based out of Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick.
Reporting to the Harvest Vessel Captain, the duties of this job requires the use of harvest vessel equipment and an understanding of proper fish handling to successfully offload fish from the vessel to the plant or trucks without compromising quality.
Harvest Deckhands perform general maintenance work so that the vessel deck is clean, safe and operational.
The successful candidates must hold, or be willing to obtain, a Marine Emergency Duties (MED) certificate as well as a valid passport and be able to enter into the United States.

Responsibilities
As the Order Picker, duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintain safeguards of confidential company information
• Putting away received materials in the proper storage locations
• Pick orders quickly and accurately and in a manner, which allows the order checker to verify the product quickly and efficiently.
• Package the products in a professional manner (i.e. label each box with the “Re-Pack” sticker, repacking product into larger cartons or totes)
• Place the orders on the appropriate pallets, ready for shipping out; these pallets are then to be arranged (stored) by route number in the designated locations.
• Ensure labels are arranged on pallet appropriately.
• Ensure that they have checked all the products in the temporary out of stock portion of the picking slip for custom packs and pre-packs.
• Notify Supervisor or forklift operator if in need of replenishment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment. This includes disposing of pallet boards, wood chips etc.
• Remove and report damaged product.
• Remove any damaged product they may see during picking and report the item # and number of pieces or cases to the Supervisor on duty
• Complete orders prior to ending shift.
• Safe Raymond Reach operation
• General warehouse maintenance
Qualifications
• Team player, adaptable, and energetic with a positive professional attitude
• Previous experience in a warehouse environment, and are comfortable operating Forklifts with safety
• Raymond reach experience and asset / ticket not required but an asset
• Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques
• Ability to carry, lift, move product/supplies in excess of 50lbs
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• You excel at communicating with professionalism in both verbal and written format
• A minimum of one (1-2) years of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere, including receiving, pulling orders, packing and shipping preferred.
• While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. The associate is
rarely exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Have strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• CSA approved steel toe boots
• A reliable means of transportation is required
• You can pass a background check and provide references

JOB OVERVIEW
General Laborers are essential members of our operation. Without them, it would not be possible for Nature Fresh to operate. General laborers are taught the skills necessary to work safely and efficiently and are expected to perform a wide array of tasks. They will often be assigned to specific tasks that are most suited towards their skill set.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
• Crop Start-up: Placing coco slabs, filling buckets, placing drip hose, rolling out plastic/tarp, planting, tying strings, clipping plants. etcetera
• Crop Cleanout: rolling up tarp, removing plants, sweeping, cleaning out plant debris, basic maintenance, washing and sanitizing the greenhouse.
• Crop Maintenance: Clipping, twisting, suckering, de-leafing, fruit pruning, lowering the plants, scout for pest & disease, applying biologicals, spraying, checking irrigation, applying fertilizer.
• Product Prep for Market: Picking the product, sorting product, packaging product, box making, stacking, tagging, cart driving, and machine operator.
• Continuous general cleanup inside/outside the greenhouse and all related areas. General Maintenance.WORKING REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS
• Experience is an asset, however if the candidate shows commitment and potential we are willing to train. Education is not a requirement.
• Must be able to distinguish colors.
• Work is physically demanding, fast paced and climates can vary from warm to cold.
• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time; bending, crouching, kneeling.
• Possibility of working at heights or lifting 15-25lbs.
• Environment can at times be humid.
• Hours will fluctuate to reflect ongoing needs of the business – average 40-60 hours be week.
• Must be available Monday-Saturday, and in some instances able to rotate on afternoon shift as required. Afternoon shift schedule is Sunday-Friday.
• Uniforms will be provided by the company should the employee choose. The employee will be responsible for uniform cleaning fees which varies between $7.00-11.00 depending on the style.SALARY- $15.83/hr - with some activities you will have the potential to earn more with piece rate/bonuses/higher rate however will earn no less than $15.83/hr. Statutory holiday pay may apply in some departments.
