We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated Site Superintendent with expertise in Multi-Family Construction, initially for a project in Kamloops, British Columbia. As the on-site representative for Scuka Construction, you will oversee all field operations from mobilization to a seamless, deficiency-free project turnover.
This full-time role typically requires 45-50 hours per week, with early starts to optimize site preparedness and ensure a secure, well-organized job site. • Oversee jobsite safety, efficiency, and compliance with contract documents and regulatory requirements, fostering a proactive safety culture and a productive work environment.
• Manage project mobilization and demobilization, including site layout to accommodate all construction needs.
• Lead and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to optimize workflow and ensure seamless project execution.
• Plan and coordinate inspections with building officials and consultants, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met while proactively addressing potential compliance issues.
• Manage inventory to prevent shortages and ensure materials are available when needed.
• Conduct daily quality control checks using established checklists, maintaining documentation for the entire project duration.
• Maintain and update project schedules regularly, proactively communicating any changes or deviations to the Project Manager.
• Chair stakeholder meetings, ensuring effective communication and decision-making across all involved parties.Personnel Management:
• Support and develop Scuka’s labor force, fostering growth and creating opportunities for improvement within the team.
• Ensure employees receive the necessary training and support to safely and efficiently perform assigned tasks, reinforcing high safety and performance standards.
• Complete employee evaluations to provide constructive feedback, supporting long-term growth and development.
• Make informed performance decisions, including professional and respectful handling of terminations, to maintain team morale and efficiency.
• Monitor the accuracy of employee timecards, ensuring all records are correct and that paperwork is efficiently communicated to the office for timely processing.Safety Management:
• Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to implement and refine existing and new safety procedures.
• Mentor the Site Safety Coordinator to ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly inspections are conducted thoroughly, while actively supporting trades to maintain a safe work environment and address safety concerns in real time.
• Actively monitor and reinforce safe work practices among employees and subcontractors, ensuring a safe, and compliant jobsite.Documentation and Communication:
• Foster and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Lead daily Toolbox Meetings with crews to promote safety, coordination, and productivity on-site.
• Prepare and submit daily reports and inspections using Procore to ensure accurate project tracking.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the project team to address challenges and updates proactively.
• Adhere to and enforce Scuka’s Policy and Procedures Manual to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Maintain up to date as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all modifications, deviations, and field changes are accurately documented and submitted promptly for recordkeeping and final turnover.Qualifications:
• Expertise in current building codes with strong ability to interpret construction documents, including scopes of work, specifications, blueprints, and contracts.
• Strong Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) focus, ensuring all work meets or exceeds project specifications and workmanship standards.
• Proficient in Office 365, Procore, and Bluebeam, with the ability to manage documentation and workflows efficiently.
• Proven experience applying LEAN Construction principles to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workflow optimization.
• Proactive in managing construction schedules while maintaining high-quality standards; experience with MS Project is an asset.
• Experience executing RFIs, purchase orders, and other essential project documentation.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Level 1 First Aid certification is considered an asset.
• Experience owning and operating your own construction business is considered an asset, providing valuable insight into project management, budgeting, and operational efficiencies.Personal Qualities:

• Demonstrated success managing fast-paced, high-density multi-family projects while maintaining strict quality and schedule control.
• Experience working on inner-city projects is considered an asset.
