Reporting to the Director of Care or designated clinical leadership team member, the Personal Support Assistant helps with select nursing and personal care tasks in accordance with residents plan of care and, which are within their knowledge and skill, while adhering to regulatory and Reveras standards, policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- To support and provide one on one care as needed;
- To provides day to day services and support to individual residents to offer a warm and safe environment, ensuring comfort and well-being of residents are met;
- To support with safe lifts and transfers of residents;
- To guide residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, restorative care office and dining room as required while contributing to a positive resident experience;
- To act as a resident companion and provide comfort and support to residents as needed;
- To assist with feeding while adhering to safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food service;
- To assist in completing general duties as directed by the care staff including, but not limited to organizing closets, restocking shelves, making of beds, support residents with high needs in choosing their clothing and dressing;
- To participate on an as needed basis in interdisciplinary meetings for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating resident care and service needs;
- To work cooperatively with peers and supervisors using the Quality Improvement/CQI process ensuring timely follow-ups;
- To assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents utilizing infection control principles;
- To communicate with supervisor about problems related to resident care and/or safety;
- To handle tactfully and courteously with residents, residents families and reports any concerns/complaints to the supervisor;
- To participate in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers and care staff;
- To actively participate in ongoing educational opportunities and transmits information to the rest of the care staff;
- To maintain resident/resident information confidentiality;

There is a sweet elderly man living in a home down on Hwy 3 south of Merlin. He is extremely sharp and bright and easy to get along and converse with. He loves music and culture and can chat for hours about things. He recently had a fall a few months back and for this reason we don’t want him home alone.

Seeking reliable, energic nurse (RPN or RN) to work with a child who is ventilator and wheelchair dependant, and requires 24/7 airway monitoring.
Shifts: every other Saturday (ie 2/month) and 2 evenings/week. More shifts available if interested.
Pay Rate: starting at $33/hour (RPN rate)
During your shift you will be responsible for:
- managing respiratory care (including ventilator and suction machines),
- managing trach care,
- g-tube feeds,
- managing gtube care,
- administering medications,
- using a cough assist (an artificial cough assistant device),
- Range of motion, physio,
- experience with Hoyer lift,
- activities of daily living (ADLs), and
- General care as needed.
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted licence to practice through the College of Nurses of Ontario
- A valid driver’s licence and vehicle

I try to be as independent as possible but my physical limitations mean that I largely depend on the help of others to carry out certain essential daily activities on a routine basis. Assistance is required in the mornings to get me out of bed, in the evenings to assist with toileting and getting me back into bed, as well as some afternoons and evenings for meal prep and light housekeeping.

Home Support Worker (HSW) provide mainly: light housekeeping,
meal prepration,
assistance with medication,
grocery service,
driving to appointments,
and laundry services for seniors and persons with disabilities in their homes, maintaining their independence, comfort, safety and ability to stay in their own homes.
Effectively communicates with clients to understand the client’s preferences.
Qualifications:
PSW experience in various long term care homes.
satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen
First Aid & CPR certified
Available Monday to Friday
Starting rate: $25 hourly
Location: Anywhere in Halton Region (Milton, Oakville, Halton Hills, Georgetown, Burlington or Mississauga)
