Karate is a self-defence system that has evolved from the study of fighting techniques for centuries. Skills that were developed included blocking, striking, and evading attacks. Goju Ryu Karate has been passed down from teacher to student for generations. Certain aspects have been preserved in their original form while others have been enhanced through studies in anatomy, kinesiology, and physics. In the traditional Karate Dojo (training place), emphasis is placed on the rigorous training of the body, the development of the mind and the enlightenment of the spirit through classical training. You can expect to lose weight, gain greater energy, and develop a strong, toned and healthier body. Improving in the art and achieving higher grades, gives one a sense of accomplishment and greater confidence in oneself. Modern life deprives us of the exercise necessary for physical and mental health. Karate is a fun and challenging way of gradually honing you into the best shape of your life. Not only do you develop top-notch self-defense abilities with karate training, you fight premature aging, and enjoy a longer, healthier and more exciting life! Adult students of karate training develop a wide range of mental and spiritual characteristics. Self-confidence, control and discipline are all qualities formed through karate training. Training in Karate allows one to be apart of a social group of like minded individuals. Training will get you off the couch and get you active and healthy!! Come out and try a class!!

IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
THE BOWIE LIVES: Canada’s Most Spectacular Tribute to David Bowie performs in
Peterborough on October 21, 2023, at 8PM
Showplace Performance Centre at 290 George St N.
TICKETS: On Sale Now https://secure1.tixhub.com/showplace/online/b_otix.asp?cboPerformances=96&cboEvent=72
The Bowie Lives is excited to be returning
to Peterborough once again! So what is “The Bowie Lives?”
Perhaps this email from an audience member best sums it up… “Saw the show last night in Midland and was blown away. Was a little apprehensive at first as I have been a Bowie fan since I was a teen and I was concerned the band may not do the songs justice. I was overwhelmingly thrilled at what I heard and saw, from the first note I was hooked. The biggest takeaway is you can tell the lead singer is truly a devoted fan himself. Loved the way you honored David Bowie. Hope to see you in Collingwood!”The industry thinks so too…
“5 Stars! Unbelievable! I could have watched them for two more hours!” says Richard Crouse, Host of CTV PopLife.“By far, the best & coolest Bowie Tribute I’ve seen!” says Sam Grosso, Cadillac Productions.
“As close as it gets!” says MusikMirage.com
They’re all talking about the “The Bowie Lives” Canada’s most Spectacular Tribute to David Bowie! Michael Bell is an award-winning vocalist who channels the sound and styles of David Bowie, and with the help of an all-star band, multi-media, theatre, and costumes, he has captured the imagination of fans young and old.
Michael discovered Bowie as a teen and performed songs with a number of his early bands. By the 80’s his first theatrical production “ChangesAllBowie” toured the “A circuit” before hanging up his “Ziggy” in the early ’90s. Decades passed. After David’s untimely death on January 10, 2016, Michael’s calling returned; his calling to honor the man who helped shape his life. Together with musical director Michael Beauclerc, they began auditioning players to fill out a band capable of performing some of Rock’s most challenging material. The Bowie Lives bring all the hits to the stage, from Space Oddity to Lazarus, and everything in between.
The Bowie Lives PRE-SHOW includes the Bowie Bazaar; T-shirts, collectibles, LP’s and DVDs, and more.
Come dressed as your favorite David Bowie persona, or wear your favorite swag and be rewarded! Don’t forget to grab a button!
Michael is also the subject of an upcoming documentary film “Being David Bowie” and an upcoming web series “The Bowie Lives.”

I can expect a miraculous change in my life by working the program of Co-Dependents Anonymous.
As I make an honest effort to work the Twelve Steps and follow the Twelve Traditions.I will know a new sense of belonging. The feeling of emptiness and loneliness will disappear.
I am no longer controlled by my fears. I overcome my fears and act with courage, integrity and dignity.
I know a new freedom.
I release myself from worry, guilt, and regret about my past and present. I am aware enough not to repeat it.
I know a new love and acceptance of myself and others. I feel genuinely lovable, loving and loved.
I learn to see myself as equal to others. My new and renewed relationships are all with equal partners.
I am capable of developing and maintaining healthy and loving relationships. The need to control and manipulate others will disappear as I learn to trust those who are trustworthy.
I learn that it is possible to mend - to become more loving, intimate and supportive. I have the choice of communicating with my family in a way which is safe for me and respectful of them.
I acknowledge that I am a unique and precious creation.
I no longer need to rely solely on others to provide my sense of worth.
I trust a guidance I receive from my higher power and come to believe in my own capabilities.
I gradually experience serenity, strength, and spiritual growth in my daily life.

It encourages and enhances responsibility, builds skills in nutrition, strategic thinking, carpentry, animal care, relationship building, team work and so many other values that video games don't offer. It also provides the opportunity to watch beautiful birds go about their interesting family lives.

Experienced vocalist/guitar player, looking for dedicated musicians with stage experience for a Unique, intimate unplugged tribute show. Featuring songs from Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stp etc. From the Era of Great Acoustic performances. I would really love to do these awesome 90s grunge/hard rock tunes a true as close as note for note tribute as possible.
Looking for Acoustic lead, rhythm and bass as well as back up vox drums, precession etc. Multi instrument musicians would ne an asset. Really what I am looking for are musicians that LOVE this Era as much as I do. I can do most lead vocals but would love if someone else is a better fit for the song to put their soul into it. Initially I'd like to do a cool Intimate sit down show where people can become part of the experience.
If any of this sounds like something you'd LOVE to be a part of, Please give me a call.

Hey I’m Jessica Scholey, a 36 year old aspiring singer from the Peterborough area looking to start/join a band. I recently released my debut single ‘One Last Goodbye’ but haven’t been able to do much else with it as I am bandless! Would really love to finally get something going musically. My song was recorded, produced and co-written by Cody Watkins, drummer of Saint Asonia. Check it out on all streaming platforms and hit me up if you’re interested in possibly making something happen.

I’m a drummer looking for other musicians to jam and make music with. My style is chill, low-tempo music, like ambient and lofi beats type of stuff. I’m not a pro. I also have a foundational grasp on music theory.
As long as you can jam on a few chords, we can have fun and make music together.

Good evening, Despite in-person lessons are much better, I'm offering online sessions as well. Look forward to talking with you!
My name is Dearian Seepersad, I'm a Music Teacher, Performer, and Composer. For the last 5 years I've been performing all over the GTA, including: festivals; pride, multi-cultural, afro-fest, private functions, restaurants, bars, and producing my local show while producing tracks for local Toronto artists. This year, I'm building my independent music school from my home studio. (Big Project!) Too often, I hear about beginner students horror stories about learning in the classical vein or the lack of purpose in general lesson plans. My focus is to create a unique lesson plan for each student to maximize efficiency while incorporating my teaching style into the plan. I incorporate musical expression, technique, and theory into each lesson while taking we've learnt and reworking it into something original. Composition being the ultimate goal; as we learn a lot quicker thinking for ourselves. There are no limitations, I've taught and performed in many genres: Classical, Jazz, Rock,Pop,Reggae, Blues, Hip-hop, Gospel, Fusion, the list goes on... So who am I? I'm a 24 year old musician who's extremely passionate about ALL music. - Completed 3 years Mohawk College Applied Music program. - 5 years teaching experience. (Includes leading band rehearsal and performances) - Developed and promoted shows - Constantly studying the scripts of the great classical composers. - Most important: Patient and Understanding. The lessons I'm offering are: Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Recording, and Drums. (Drums taught by another teacher) We will discuss: Structure (Form), Harmony, Melody, Counterpoint, Sightreading and Improvisation while meeting the technical demands of instrument.
Each lesson will be 30 - 45 minutes with the option to have the lesson at your location/home. My rates are fair and negotiable. We all have our lives and circumstances going on; it's okay. Feel free to respond to this ad, call or text: 647-294-0493. (I'm quite busy, if you text the instrument you wish to learn, I'll call as soon as I'm available)
Thanks for reading, I hope we chat soon! "Music is the mediator between the spiritual and sensual life" - Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Preference in music is a lot of variations of rock and country, 90's to current, just looking to play and having fun, live once in a while maybe once a month or so. I don't have the availability to play a gig every week. As you can see I have all pro gear, several drum kits, monster kits to scaled back 4 piece and a full scale pa to play anywhere. I don't have a rehearsal spot, sorry. I am also open to starting something from scratch. Feel free to drop me a message if you you what to chat about it, Cheers.
