Trimlight Van Isle is growing the services that we offer and seeking our next team member. You will be trained to install Trimlight systems and already possess a variety of skills including (but not limited to) confidence on ladders and at heights, skills with tools (preferably construction, carpentry or roofing skills), enthusiasm to provide the best experience and quality finished product for our customers, and a desire to grow with us. We require a current drivers licence and clean abstract. Compensation will vary depending on skill set and job placement. Starting wage is $23/hour and up. To apply for this position, please email a resume with cover letter directly to trimlightvictoria@gmail.com We will reach out to those qualified to schedule an interview.
FAQs:
What is Trimlight & what communities do you serve?
* Trimlight is a permanent programmable lighting system. We offer a Lifetime Product Warranty with our systems so we value working with professionals who take pride in their work.
* We install from Nanaimo through all of the South Island. Our shop is in Cowichan Bay.
What other services do you provide?
* We have recently expanded to serve our customers with small home improvement projects. We have a journeyman carpenter leading this portion of our team who would be pleased to work on both carpentry & installation projects with someone who wishes to attain a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction.
I’ve got plenty of experience with tools, but have not worked with programmable lights before. Is that a problem?
* We are absolutely willing to train the right person. Safety is a major priority as is efficiency. If you are comfortable working at heights and follow safety protocol, plus you have pride in your work, we can teach you how to complete a show-stopping light installation.
Do I have to be a tech wizard to understand how the lights work?
* No. In fact the owner of Trimlight Van Isle will tell you that he wondered this as well. Our lights are controlled by an app and with practice, you will become comfortable showing homeowners and business owners how to use it.
Is this a seasonal job?
* No. We work year round with Trimlight installations and our customer’s small home projects. For example, this week we have lights being installed on homes in Colwood & Mill Bay while we are finishing a bathroom renovation & replacing flooring in another residence.
Is there any deal breakers to stop me from applying?
* Yes. We need a valid drivers licence and clean abstract.
Can I make a career of this?
* Yes, and we wish that you would! We conduct ourselves so that we can have pride in our work and our customers are pleased to give us referrals. We want you to grow with us, share in that pride and have a great work/life balance at the same time.
Is this a local business?
* Yes. We are a family run business located in Cowichan Bay.
What is the most unexpected perk in this business?
* We knew people would be excited about their beautiful new lighting systems, but we underestimated HOW happy they would be. Our customers are so excited to see us and they rave about how much they love their lights and the services that we provide them. It goes a long way at the end of the day when you’re dealing with people who are happy to have trusted you with their investment!
