We are currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Hardwood Lands, NS Maintenance Team. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for regular maintenance and service to mobile equipment.
As an integral part of our Operations Team you will:
- Regular Fleet maintenance of our mobile equipment;
- Maintain records of service and repairs to equipment;
- Manage an inventory of Parts/materials required for service and maintenance to ensure uptime availability;
- Maintain a clean and organized work space;
- Will be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Grade XII or equivalent Red seal certificate required
- Post-secondary training as a Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Red Seal certificate required
- Able to work under pressure and troubleshoot equipment including:
- Loaders
- Forklifts
- Grader
- Excavator
- Dump trucks
May be called upon to assist in troubleshooting/repair of plant equipment as well
Able to perform complete repair and overhaul
Diesel Experience an asset
Strong mechanical aptitude
Strong sense of safety
Ability to work without supervision and to get along well with others
Good organizational skills
Familiarity with computers is an asset
Appreciation and knowledge of production environment
You are customer focused and understand how to prioritize and multi-task with a sense of urgency when required

We are requiring experienced personnel to operate our crushing and screening operation throughout the 2022-2023 season. The required person or persons must be capable of maintaining the equipment and keeping all components in good operational condition. Our crushing spread consists of a Metso C 106 Jaw Crusher and H P 300 Closed Circuit Cone as well as screening equipment for the purpose of separating and grading materials for Type 1 gravel and other base gravels, clear stones and products for the purpose of mixing asphalt.
The successful candidate must be mechanically minded and able to change and replace liners and jaw plates in the equipment. It would be an asset to have a candidate with loader and excavator experience due to the fact we use both in feeding and stockpiling process.
At present time we are looking for a supervisor as well as crushing crew staff. Supervisor would be responsible for crew management and training, coordinating overhaul and rebuild activities as well as the management of the pit/quarry locations. - Willing to relocate near Sparwood, B.C.

Qualifications
