Queens Bay Hideaway is a rare private Kootenay Lakefront cottage as it is nestled at the end of a quiet no-thru road and does not share the property with any other residences. It is located at the sheltered Queens Bay which has the warmest water on Kootenay Lake and is only 30 minutes between Nelson and Kaslo just north of the Balfour Ferry Terminal. But don't worry about noise as you will only see the ferry when it is mid way across the lake and the cottage is well away from the roadway. The completely renovated 700 Sq ft cottage sleeps 5-6 people with two bedrooms including a Queen bed, two single beds and a futon sofa bed.
The inside of the cottage has plenty of natural wood accents and is bright with large windows looking out to the lake. The new large deck with patio table/chairs and the sheltered BBQ area is a fantastic place to enjoy the vast lake and Purcell Mountain views with a morning coffee. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, stove/oven, microwave and bottled water-cooler. There is a full bathroom with a large shower. Everything that you will need in the cabin is supplied including all bedding, linens and towels, TV, Blu-ray/DVD and WIFI and cell reception.
Spend your days at the beach with a swim dock and a campfire or head out and explore what the area has to offer. For day trips there are the heritage towns of Nelson and Kaslo with shops and restaurants that are unique to these towns and stunning views or take one of the worlds longest free ferry rides to the East Shore to find more one of a kind artisans and places to hike and explore. Ainsworth is a 20 minute drive and the beautiful Balfour Golf Course is an easy ten minute walk from the cottage. There is also cave exploring, fishing charters, hiking, mountain biking and zip-lining close by. An easy stroll along the trail that follows the beach from the cottage takes you to Balfour where you will find two pubs, a diner, bakery, grocery store with a liquor outlet and the ferry.
The rates shown are for the first four guests with an extra charge of $20 per guests per night after the first four. Everything you will need for a relaxing and carefree stay is provided as we have done with our other lakefront cabin in Kaslo (Kootenai Hideaway) since 2004. This cottage is located at the family-oriented LaCasa Resort. It is a few minutes walk from the beach with unobstructed views of the lake. Lake Okanagan is beautiful and you should be by the lake with a full view of it. It will be hard find a better location and view. Enjoy your morning coffee, happy hour, dinner, or just take a nap on the deck and look at the lake. Whatever you like you'll enjoy it from this modern air-conditioned cottage.
Its a crazy world right now and staying local in Canada provides a piece of mind that international travel can not currently provide as its too unstable. Buy Canadian and feel good about it.

Our Okanagan Cottage has 3 large bedrooms featuring queen size beds, a pull out sofa sleeper by the fireplace, 2 full baths, and a large front deck with an incredible lake view. The GOURMET kitchen includes granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and is fully stocked for all your cooking needs. The cottage is complete with washer/dryer and BBQ. Enjoy your coffee as you watch the sunrise on your large deck, and later the same day enjoy dinner and an evenings' glass of wine on the deck as day turns to night and you relax while gazing at the stars sparkling over the moonlit lake.
The kids will enjoy the 600 Mbps Internet speed, its the fastest you can get. Bring your streaming TV device, game console, and connect to the 50 inch 4k TV and watch Netflix, or your other favorite channel, on your own account. You can use our Wifi as we will provide you access to it so you can connect your phones and tablets and save your own data.
The ATV trails up the mountain are breath taking! Ride your ATV on the numerous maintained trails or find your own path in the back country.
We have boat moorage available!!!
During the summer LaCasa provides guests with numerous amenities including 2 pools, 3 hot tubs, tennis courts, a volleyball court, mini golf, a restaurant (during seasonal operation), kids play area, and a general store. Our beachfront has several tanning decks with loungers and three large aqua-parks (trampoline and slides). Make use of the kayaks and paddle boards available at the beach as well. The amenities are open from May Long Weekend till September Long weekend.
Playing in the Okanagan allows you access to fourteen wineries all within a 1 hour drive of LaCasa including Summerhill Pyramid, Grey Monk, Mission Hill, Cedar Creek, and Quail's Gate. It also has world renowned Golf Courses nearby. Kelowna is well known for its many locally owned restaurants with an assortment of menus and night life that features a Casino, theater, or family oriented activities.
Rather then drive to town to get groceries use the Save On Foods delivery service, order from the West Kelowna store and have it delivered the next day.
Personally, we go to the cottage to enjoy the Okanagan and its range of outdoor activities. There are a lot of activities at the resort but we like to use it as our base camp for all that the Okanagan has to offer. Silver Star Mountain is 60 minutes away and is a year round playground featuring Skiing, Snowboarding, and Snow-shoeing in the winter and a Mountain bike park with hiking in the summer. Activities in the area range from zip lining, paintball, biking (family oriented, road biking, and mountain biking), hiking, and bungee jumping. Oh yea, there is also Lake Okanagan which is incredible to Paddleboard, kayak, swim, and boat in and there is a special dog beach because your pet can stay and they love the water as well. Do yourself a favour, come enjoy the great Okanagan, right on the lakefront. You will not regret it!

I have a lower suite in a big cabin located under the Huckleberry Chairlift at Castle Mountain. The closest town is Pincher Creek. This ski hill is a very good all round ski hill with something for everybody. The place I have is 1000 square feet with 3 big bedrooms and a nice bathroom with a shower. The rental includes the use of the hot tub off of the upper suite. I use the whole cabin almost every other weekend but there is still days available. I rent the place out by the day weekend or week. It starts at $250 per night in Season and cheaper in the off season(Summer). Everything is there for you to enjoy your holiday. Barbeque and spices, silverware etc. The only catch is you have to leave it clean and ready for the next renter. There is no cleaning crew.

Welcome to our beautiful Cozy Cottage located 5 minutes south of Bayfield and 15 minutes north of Grand Bend, Ontario. Currently we are renting for the following:
Spring 2026 - $1,100 per week
- Saturday May 30th to Saturday June 6th

- Saturday June 13th to Saturday June 20th
Fall 2026 - $1,000 per week
- Saturday September 12th to Saturday September 19th

Winter Months:

We only rent our cottage to families or to mature adults.
Due to very severe allergies in our family, there are NO PETS of any kind allowed (sorry but NO exceptions). Also there is NO SMOKING of any kind inside our cottage (smoking can be done outside only).

There is also an additional cleaning/damage deposit fee of $300 for weekly rentals OR $900 for monthly rentals. This is refundable within 7 days after the end of the rental period after a complete inspection is done showing that the cottage is being returned fully cleaned, with no damages and is in a “ready to rent” condition for our next guests.
