Study title: Remembering the past, imagining the future, and personal thoughts in PTSD
We are recruiting 35-50 people who experienced a traumatic event but do not have PTSD or other current mental health symptoms. If you are, then we would invite you to a testing session on videoconference where you would complete mental health interviews, surveys, and tasks that measure memory and thinking. If we invite you to participate, this session will last between 1.5 and 2 hours and you will receive up to $40 for your time.
To be eligible for this study, you should be:
- Between the ages of 30-65

Volunteer in Sólheimar, Iceland‘s first and only eco-village, located in southwest Iceland, east of Reykjavík. The heart of the Sólheimar ideology is to give all individuals a fair chance and to maximize their potential. By focusing on individuals' abilities instead of their limitations, Sólheimar aims to create the space for each resident to take every opportunity that arises for each person to grow and develop. Versatility is the strength of Sólheimar so people with special needs that reside here will always be the center of the community. This works through the idea of reverse integration: those without special needs adapt to the abilities of those who do, they can work together to make their community an equal and sustainable one. The foundation of the ideology of Sólheimar derives from the visions and lifework of Sesselja herself.
Sólheimar is a pioneer in practicing organic farming. In Sólheimar, there is an organically certified greenhouse, forestry, and arboretum. Other environmentally-friendly projects in Sólheimar include geothermal energy and recycling.
The main work in this project will be in the forestry, called Ölur, and also in the greenhouses, which are called Sunna. Volunteers will work in the greenhouses, planting and harvesting vegetables, weed control and sometimes gardening. The work may also include painting or fixing things around the property. During the winter, volunteers will help remove the snow and keep the walkways clear.

WE ARE WILLING TO HELP OUT IN YOUR COUNTRY HOME OR ON YOUR RURAL PROPERTY/FARM/
IN EXCHANGE, MY PARTNER AND I ARE LOOKING FOR A WONDERFUL HOME WITH 1 or 2 EXTRA ROOMS FOR A REDUCED RENT.
Hi, Bobbi and I are looking to rent one or two rooms in a home on a country estate or on a farm in a rural environment within an hour drive of Kitchener or Hamilton or anywhere in between.
We are a positive, quiet, respectful, non smoking, non drinking, helpful mature couple looking to contribute to the upkeep of a country property or lend a helping hand on the farm or with farm animals. In return, we ask for a reduced rental rate for a room or two within your home.
I grew up on a farm and have an excellent work ethic and I am very handy in construction, electrical, plumbing, roofing, handling heavier equipment, landscaping, snow removal, etc. My partner also has many talents and is fantastic with animals (big and small)!
We are in the tree business (arborists) so we can assist you with trees on your property as well and/or provide you with free firewood. We need a place to park our 14' landscaping trailer and vehicle.
If you have an extra room, a warm heart, and want to share your space with a loving, positive couple, and you would like some extra help around your property or around the farm, please give us a call and let's chat.
Within the right home environment, we are a tremendous positive force as we are grateful, wise, spiritually focused, encouraging, and devoted to meaningful, loving relationships.
I am looking for a wonderful person/family who is looking for us!
I look forward to your call.
Thanks so much,

About interVivos
We’re a group of Edmonton volunteers who are here to cultivate leadership and make an impact in our community. Our engagement events and mentorship programs have brought people together from all backgrounds since 2006.About the board member role
Volunteer board members complete a variety of administrative tasks to keep a small non-profit, with no staff, going. Volunteer board members attend virtual bi-monthly board meetings, virtual bi-weekly working sessions, interVivos in-person special events, as well as other ad-hoc in-person activities, which mostly fall on evenings or weekends. Also, they are interVivos ambassadors who strongly believe in our vision of a generation of inspired and informed leaders.A former board member had the following to say of her experience on the board: “I learned valuable lessons during my time with the board. My understanding of board governance and board accountability developed substantially. I also had the opportunity to meet an incredible number of people, and my network grew. I attribute this to the array of topics and professional paths that intersect at this organization. I was given many chances to try so many new roles and responsibilities. I am so grateful to interVivos and its board members for new friendships, many laughs and diverse experiences.”
Board term
Volunteer board members are expected to complete a two-year term after successfully completing a 3-month trial period. This is an unpaid volunteer position. There is also the opportunity to be elected to a vacant leadership role after successfully completing the 3-month trial, e.g., Director of Digital Engagement, Director of Programs and Events.Application deadline
