Organizational Membership and Business Marketing Development Intern
The Handicapped Action Group Inc. in partnership with The Wilderness Discovery Centre is seeking a community and business development Intern who will work with the membership of both organizations in developing and implementing plans to increase community awareness of both organizations' programs and services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Furthering Community Membership, developing community awareness of our services.
• To develop virtual online newsletters.
• Assisting HAGI's Housing program by developing and implementing a tenant relations program.
• Creating engagement amongst tenants to increase health and wellness and further a sense of community within HAGI's housing buildings.
• Reaching out to the younger disabled community with the school systems and potentially create a Youth Advisory Committee to further community outreach.
• Assisting the seasonal managers of our camp program at the Wilderness Discovery Centre with established practices and procedures in the development of a reservation system, policies and procedures pertaining to senior and disabled camper requirements including transportation, support services and individual subsidies and a 30 second Marketing commercial to be aired on HAGI TV Bingo.
• Developing Presentations to senior’s centers, group homes and various suitable organizations pertaining to availability of camping spots at Wilderness Discovery Centre.
• Developing awareness of the benefits of the Wilderness Discovery Centre for one’s mental and physical health
• Promoting Wilderness Discovery Centre through provincial, national, and international publications/magazines specifically for persons with a disability and seniors.
• Developing and implementing a marketing plan, including updating social media platforms, website and print media to boost engagement and increase our following.

NORTH PILOT / EQUIPMENT SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Being or becoming a pilot is not a strict job requirement, however, Wilson’s will consider paying for the right candidate to get their license, under training bond, if they are interested.
About Us:
Wilson's Business Solutions is the leading office solutions provider in Northwestern Ontario and Northern Manitoba. For over 80 years we have been providing complete sales and service support for office printing systems, computer products, furniture and office products to our customers and have physical locations in seven separate communities. Our service departments, consisting of over 20 technicians, support these product offerings by providing on-site troubleshooting and repairs to our customer base. We currently operate our own airplanes to service our customers located in remote Northern communities.Position: As a member of our North Service team your primary role will be servicing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting photocopiers and related network issues. Service work will involve travelling to remote Northern communities, as well as working in Dryden and surrounding areas. Full copier repair training will be provided. Other duties include trip planning, helping customers remotely, and assisting other departments when needed. The successful candidate must be relationship-oriented and committed to ensuring customer satisfaction. Pilots can expect 50-100 PIC flying hours per year.
Qualifications: Must have either good computer skills, mechanical aptitude – or both. Any experience in IT or copier/appliance repair would be a major asset. Customer service skills are essential. Having a private pilot’s license is preferred but candidates who are a good match in other areas or who have an interest in obtaining their private pilot’s license will also be considered. Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.

What type of planes do Wilson’s pilots fly? Wilson’s owns two planes: an Aztec twin engine and a Cessna 182. We are currently in the process of switching to two Cessna 182s.What do you mean by ‘interruption to personal schedule’? The type of flying we do (VFR) requires specific weather conditions. With that comes some unpredictability about which days we travel, especially during spring and fall. Machines can go down any time and, in some cases, require a last-minute trip. Essentially, our service model requires flexibility which may result in unexpected trips on short notice. However, Wilson’s is extremely flexible and accommodating for any necessary appointments or days off. On average, the ideal candidate will be available for approximately one longer (3-4 day) overnight trip and one or two day trips per month.
What type of person usually enjoys being a North Pilot / Technician? The type of candidate who enjoys this career typically enjoys solving puzzles, and is curious and adaptive. Photocopiers are complex devices with dozens of sensors, gears, motors and clutches; new models and technologies require continuous learning. This position also requires a good foundation of computer skills. Networking skills will be used frequently to troubleshoot printing and scanning issues. Candidates with no copier repair experience will train mostly in Dryden/area for the first 3 months to develop basic skills/familiarity.
Infrequently, working conditions may be poorly lit or cramped. Typical services and resources aren’t always easily available in the North, sometimes requiring novel solutions and adaptability. We are fortunate to have a close-knit and experienced team for assistance, lots of resources and also great relationships with our customers.

POSITION SUMMARY
Tseshaht First Nation is seeking a Fisheries Guardian assistant who is responsible to perform Guardian duties for the running of Tseshaht Fisheries as per the requirements of the Aboriginal Fisheries Strategy (AFS). This position reports to the Fisheries Manager and the seasonal position runs from May to October.PRIMARY/CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Tseshaht and program specific policies, standards, practices, and procedures, as directed by the Fisheries Manager:• Assistant Fisheries Guardian works both on the water and in the field to ensure that all Guardian duties are handled in accordance with Tseshaht fisheries rights and protocols and with DFO regulations for the duration of the fisheries.
• Fisheries Guardian Assistant, support Lead Guardian with enforcement role in communicating, informing and instructing commercial fishing vessels and sports fisherman and for liaising with DFO and the Catch Monitors on Guardian and Tseshaht fisheries matters.
• Fisheries Guardian Assistant, support Lead Guardian with operational support that includes: the maintenance of fisheries vessels, equipment and supplies, the administration of seasonal fishing licenses, fisheries counts, statistics and reports and generally provides operational field support for a range of stewardship initiatives for the protection and monitoring of Tseshaht fishery habitats and aquatic environments.
• Assist with the completion of various operational and administrative tasks associated with the setup and operational administration of the annual schedule of Tseshaht Fisheries for Salmon, Chinook, Chum and Coho.
• Assists the Lead Guardian with coordinating and running of Community Fish Days, community fish distribution, and administering of fishing licenses.
• Other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Training, Education and Experience
• Grade 12 or GED with Aboriginal Guardian Training/ knowledge and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Other courses or training seminars considered of benefit: project management, diving certification, water safety and first aide.
• A current SVOP and Motor Vehicle Driving License. 1year of proven Fisheries Guardian work experiences relevant to First Nation Fisheries resources.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• General knowledge of office systems and use of computers, including: Microsoft Office, Excel, and other Fisheries database applications.

- Permis de conduire valide : détenir un permis de conduire probatoire ou régulier valide (Classe 5).
